When you recite "The HOLY QUR'AN"; recites it as if your LORD is Talking to you and Describing you about the Truth.

Translation of the HOLY QUR'AN - 85.Surat Al-Burūj (The Mansions of the Stars) - سورة البروج

Surat Al-Burūj (The Mansions of the Stars) - سورة البروج
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
[In the Name of ALLAH, the ENTIRELY MERCIFUL, the ESPECIALLY MERCIFUL]

85:1
وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوجِ
Pronunciation
Wassama-i thatialburooj
Translation
By the sky containing great stars
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
By the heaven of the constellations, the twelve constellations of the planets — as explained in [sūrat] al-Furqān [Q. 25:61];
85:2
وَالْيَوْمِ الْمَوْعُودِ
Pronunciation
Walyawmi almawAAood
Translation
And [by] the promised Day
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
and [by] the promised day, the Day of Resurrection;
85:3
وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ
Pronunciation
Washahidin wamashhood
Translation
And [by] the witness and what is witnessed,
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
and [by] the witness, Friday, and the witnessed, the day of ‘Arafa — that is how these three [elements] have been explained in hadīth: for the first one is ‘promised’, the second one is ‘a witness’ [that testifies] to deeds performed in it, while the third is ‘witnessed’ by mankind and angels (the introductory [particle] of the response to the oath has been omitted, but is implied to be laqad, ‘verily’, [sc. laqad qutila ashābu’l-ukhdūd]):
85:4
قُتِلَ أَصْحَابُ الْأُخْدُودِ
Pronunciation
Qutila as-habu alukhdood
Translation
Cursed were the companions of the trench
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
perish, accursed be, the men of the ditch!, the pit in the ground,
85:5
النَّارِ ذَاتِ الْوَقُودِ
Pronunciation
Annari thati alwaqood
Translation
[Containing] the fire full of fuel,
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
of the fire (al-nāri is an inclusive substitution of it [al-ukhdūdi, ‘of the ditch’]), abounding in fuel, by which it was fuelled,
85:6
إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ
Pronunciation
Ith hum AAalayha quAAood
Translation
When they were sitting near it

when they sat by it, around the edge of the ditch on chairs,
85:7
وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ
Pronunciation
Wahum AAala ma yafAAaloona bilmu/mineenashuhood
Translation
And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses.
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
and they themselves, to what they did to those who believed, in God, in the way of torturing them by hurling [them] into the fire when they did not recant their faith, were witnesses, [they were themselves] present [thereat]. It is reported [in a hadīth] that God saved the believers who had been thrown into the fire by taking their souls before they fell into it, and that the fire then rose up and burnt all those [sitting] around it.
85:8
وَمَا نَقَمُوا مِنْهُمْ إِلَّا أَن يُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ
Pronunciation
Wama naqamoo minhum illa anyu/minoo billahi alAAazeezi alhameed
Translation
And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy,
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
And all that they were vindicative towards them of was that they believed in God, the Mighty, in His kingdom, the Praised,
85:9
الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
Pronunciation
Allathee lahu mulku assamawatiwal-ardi wallahu AAala kullishay-in shaheed
Translation
To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah , over all things, is Witness.
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
to Whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness to all things, in other words, all that the disbelievers disavowed of the believers was their faith.
85:10
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ الْحَرِيقِ
Pronunciation
Inna allatheena fatanoo almu/mineenawalmu/minati thumma lam yatooboo falahum AAathabujahannama walahum AAathabu alhareeq
Translation
Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire.
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
Indeed those who persecute believing men and believing women, by having them burnt, then do not repent, there will be for them the chastisement of Hell, [in return] for their disbelief, and there will [also] be for them the chastisement of burning, that is to say, the chastisement for their having had the believers burnt, in the Hereafter; but it is also said [that there is this chastisement for them] in this world, as when the fire rose up and burnt them, as [mentioned] above.
85:11
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْكَبِيرُ
Pronunciation
Inna allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati lahum jannatuntajree min tahtiha al-anharu thalikaalfawzu alkabeer
Translation
Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment.
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
Indeed those who believe and perform righteous deeds, for them there will be gardens underneath which rivers flow: that is the supreme triumph.
85:12
إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
Pronunciation
Inna batsha rabbika lashadeed
Translation
Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe.
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
Assuredly your Lord’s assault, against the disbelievers, is severe, [as severe] as He will [it to be].
85:13
إِنَّهُ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
Pronunciation
Innahu huwa yubdi-o wayuAAeed
Translation
Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats.
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
Assuredly it is He Who originates, creation, and restores, and is never thwarted in what He wills,
85:14
وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الْوَدُودُ
Pronunciation
Wahuwa alghafooru alwadood
Translation
And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate,
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
and He is the Forgiving, to sinning believers, the Loving, the One Who shows love to His friends through [His acts of] generosity,
85:15
ذُو الْعَرْشِ الْمَجِيدُ
Pronunciation
Thoo alAAarshi almajeed
Translation
Honorable Owner of the Throne,
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
Lord of the Throne, its Creator and Possessor, the Glorious (read nominative al-majīdu), the One deserving of the perfect attributes of sublimity,
85:16
فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
Pronunciation
FaAAAAalun lima yureed
Translation
Effecter of what He intends.
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
Doer of what He desires, nothing able to thwart Him.
85:17
هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْجُنُودِ
Pronunciation
Hal ataka hadeethu aljunood
Translation
Has there reached you the story of the soldiers -
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
Have you, O Muhammad (s), received the story of the hosts,
85:18
فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ
Pronunciation
FirAAawna wathamood
Translation
[Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud?
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
Pharaoh and Thamūd? (Fir‘awna wa-Thamūda substitutes for al-junūdi) — the mention of ‘Pharaoh’ suffices to also include his followers; their ‘story’ is that they were destroyed for their disbelief, and this is meant as a warning for those who deny the Prophet (s) and the Qur’ān, that they may be admonished [thereby].
85:19
بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي تَكْذِيبٍ
Pronunciation
Bali allatheena kafaroo fee taktheeb
Translation
But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial,
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
Nay, but the disbelievers are [engrossed] in denial, of the mentioned;
85:20
وَاللَّهُ مِن وَرَائِهِم مُّحِيطٌ
Pronunciation
Wallahu min wara-ihimmuheet
Translation
While Allah encompasses them from behind.
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
and God is behind them, All-Encompassing — they have no protector against Him.
85:21
بَلْ هُوَ قُرْآنٌ مَّجِيدٌ
Pronunciation
Bal huwa qur-anun majeed
Translation
But this is an honored Qur'an
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
Nay, but it is a glorious, a magnificent, Qur’ān,
85:22
فِي لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوظٍ
Pronunciation
Fee lawhin mahfooth
Translation
[Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate.
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
in a tablet, suspended above the seventh heaven, preserved (read mahfūzin), from all devils and from having any of its contents altered; it is a high as the distance between the earth and the heaven, and as wide as the distance between the east and the west, made of white pearls — as stated by Ibn ‘Abbās, may God be pleased with both [him and his father, ‘Abbās]
