How To Perform Salat-ut-Tasbih Step by Step
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ
الرَّحِيمِ
[In the Name of ALLAH, the
ENTIRELY MERCIFUL, the ESPECIALLY MERCIFUL]
[All the information I gave here are collected
from the book and I tried to make the Arabic pronunciations as much as right as
possible, though I'll recommend you to learn real Arabic pronunciations rather
than reading it from English text that I provided. However, if you have problem
to understand anything then please go to the Mosque nearby and contact with the
Imam just do not hesitate Insha'ALLAH it will become easier to you. And
remember words of Salah/Prayer/Namaaz has to be recited in Arabic, the
translation I only gave here so that you can understand the meaning what you
are reciting; so that you can concentrate on prayer more politely, generously
and submit your wills best way to ALLAH [S.W.T] as a most obedient servant
should. Imam means the persons who lead the prayer; Muqtadi means the followers who will perform the prayer following the leads of
Imam.]
“When you are performing Salah/Prayer/Namaaz
that time you are talking with ALLAH [S.W.T] in private.”
May ALLAH Be with you and Bless you and Help
you to follow the straight path.
Important Note
Remember a person can gain more benefit if that
person performs prayers in Mosque by following the leads of Imam. Generally Fard
[Obligatory] prayer has to perform behind the leads of Imam; there are some exceptions
too. When a person intent to pray/Niyat behind the leads of Imam; Intention to Pray/Niyat
has to change slightly than that person intent to pray and perform prayer alone.
In every intention to pray/Niyat you will find [Allahuu Akbar], it’s not part of
the intention rather it’s a part of Salah/Prayer/Namaaz. You have to recite it together.
Some Note
Before I start to explain the way to perform the
[SALAH/PRAYERS/NAMAAZ] I would like to inform you some important things, which I
believe might be helpful for you later on-
1. Don’t look here or there starting from
making the intention of prayer till the completion of the prayer.
2. Perform prayer calmly, sincerely and obediently.
Do not hurry.
3. Without ‘(E) Surat Al-Fatihah (The Opener) - سورة الفاتحة’ prayer
is invalid.
4. You must have
to add (D) ‘Tasmiyah’ before and ‘Aameen’ at the end
of ‘Al-Fatihah’.
5. Add ‘Tasmiyah’
before adding any ‘Surah/Chapter’ (or ‘Few Verses’ from The Holy
Qur'an) after saying ‘Aameen’ at the end of ‘Al-Fatihah’.
6. Although it
is not mandatory to keep the sequence of ‘Surah’ but try to do it. When
you are adding any ‘Surah’ after reciting ‘Aameen’ at the end of ‘Al-Fatihah’
in any Rakat first add ‘Tasmiyah’ then try to keep the sequence
of ‘Surah’ as it given in The Holy Qur'an. In every Rakat of the
prayer sequence should be continued. For example- If you are offering “4
Rakat Sunnat Prayer” then in first Rakat after reciting the ‘Al-Fatihah’
and saying ‘Aameen’ and reciting ‘Tasmiyah’ suppose you are
adding ‘107.Surat Al-Mā`ūn (The Small Kindnesses)
- سورة
الماعون’ and after
completing 1st Rakat when you reach at the 2nd or 3rd
or 4th Rakat after reciting the ‘Al-Fatihah’ and saying ‘Aameen’
and reciting ‘Tasmiyah’ you should add any ‘Surah’ which are given as
sequence after ‘107. Surat Al-Maun’ it might be ‘109.Surat Al-Kāfirūn (The Disbelievers) - سورة
الكافرون’ or ‘113.Surat Al-Falaq (The Daybreak) - سورة
الفلق’ and so on rather
than which are given before ‘107. Surat Al-Maun’ i.e ‘106.Surat Quraysh (Quraysh) - سورة قريش’ or ‘99.Surat Az-Zalzalah (The
Earthquake) - سورة
الزلزلة’ and so on as
given in The Holy Qur'n. The sequence means the number at the left side
of the ‘Surah’ for ‘107. Surat Al-Maun’ it is 107. For The
Holy Qur'an, please visit if you need ===} The HOLY QUR'AN
7. In ‘Fard [obligatory]
Prayer’ after completing ‘Second Rakat’ no ‘Surah’ shall be
added in remaining ‘Rakat’ [i.e. 3rd and 4th] after saying
‘Aameen’ at the end of ‘Al-Fatihah’. But in ‘Sunnat’ or ‘Witr’
[essential prayer] Prayer’ after completing ‘Second Rakat’ ‘Surah’
should be added in remaining ‘Rakat’ [i.e. 3rd and 4th] after saying ‘Aameen’
at the end of ‘Al-Fatihah’.
8. In the case
of ‘Salat-ul-Jumua (Friday Community Prayer), Salat-ul-Fajr (The Morning
Prayer), Salat-ul-Maghrib (The Evening Prayer), Salat-ul-lsha (The Night
Prayer) Imam must recite the word of Salah/Prayer (i.e. ‘(E)
Surat Al-Fatihah (The Opener)’ and other ‘Surah’ that
which has to add in 1st and 2nd Rakat of ‘Fard prayer’)
loudly. However, in ‘Salat-ul-Zuhr (The Noon Prayer), Salat-ul-Asr
(The Afternoon Prayer)’ Imam must recite the prayer (i.e. ‘(E)
Surat Al-Fatihah (The Opener)’ and other ‘Surah’ that
which has to add in 1st and 2nd Rakat of ‘Fard prayer’)
silently. Moreover, in 3rd and final Rakat of ‘Fard
prayer’ Imam has to recite the word of Salah/Prayer (i.e. ‘(E) Surat Al-Fatihah (The Opener)’) silently and
must not add any ‘Surah’ after ‘(E) Surat Al-Fatihah (The Opener)’ whichever
‘Fard Prayer’ Imam is performing.
9. However, the
word of Salah/Prayer [i.e. (A1)'Taqbeer-e-Tahreema’, (A) [Taqbeer], (G)
[Tasmee], (N) [Taslim/Salutation at the end of prayer]] must recite
loudly nomatter whichever ‘Fard Prayer’ Imam is performing.
Moreover, the word of Salah/Prayer [i.e. (B) [Sanaa], (C) [Ta'awuz], (D) [Tasmiyah],
(F) [Rukuu/Bow], (H) [Tahmeed], (I) [Sajdah/Prostrate], (J) [Jalsah/ Sitting posture
between two Prostrations], (K) [Tashah-hud], (L) [Durood-E- Ibraaheemi], (M) [Du’aa
Mashura]] must recite silently nomatter whichever ‘Fard Prayer’ Imam
is performing.
10. During the position
of (I) [Sajdah/Prostrate] your fingers should be close together without
keeping any gap between one finger from another. Unlike, during the position
of (J) [Jalsah/ Sitting posture between two Prostrations], (K) [Tashah-hud],
(L) [Durood-E- Ibraaheemi], (M) [Du’aa Mashura]] while your fingers should be
close together but keep slight gap between one finger from another.
11. And also remember
during each postion of the prayer your both elbow should be reasonably far-off from
your body and ground (i.e. elbow should not touch your body or ground).
12. When you are
reciting (K) ‘Tashah-hud’ and when you reached the word “Aashhadu Allaa”
raise the index finger of the right hand (join the long finger with the thumb
to make a circle with the little and ring fingers bent towards the palm and the
palms on the thighs near the knees with fingers facing the Qiblah) and lower the
index finger when you reached the word “Illal-Laahu” and then let
all the fingers rest straight like that of the left hand (Left hand: palms on the
thighs near the knees with fingers facing the Qiblah and the fingers remain close
together).
13. When you are
completing the prayer with (N) ‘Taslim/Salutation at the end of prayer’ make
that ‘Taslim/Salutation at the end of prayer’ like you are giving it to the
people of your right and then the people of your left including the
Angel (ملائكة /Malāīkah/ Fareshta).
14. “Sajdatus Sahu/
to amend the prayer for mistake in prayer” in ‘final Rakat’ after observing
usual procedure (i.e. (I) [Sajdah/Prostrate], (K) [Tashah-hud]) you have
to say (N) [Taslim/Salutation at the end of prayer] only to the right
side, after that you have to follow the usual procedure of ‘final Rakat’ (i.e. (A)
[Taqbeer], (I) [Sajdah/Prostrate], (A) [Taqbeer], (J) [Jalsah/ Sitting posture
between two Prostrations], (A) [Taqbeer], (I) [Sajdah/Prostrate], (K) [Tashah-hud],
(L) [Durood-E- Ibraaheemi], (M) [Du’aa Mashura]]) and complete the prayer with
(N) [Taslim/Salutation at the end of prayer] to the right and then left as
usual.)
15. Try to wear a
proper dress; try to avoid those dresses which may divert your concentration from
prayer. And always make sure that any portion of your pants or trousers is not
remaining below your ankle (i.e. pants or trousers whichever you wear fold it
up till above your ankle).
[NOTE-
After every ‘Fard [obligatory] Prayer’ recites at least once 'Ayat
Al-Kursi' (i.e. - [2:255] 2.Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow) -
سورة البقرة ). It is not
mandatory but accepts it as a glad tiding. Because, in this Verse (i.e. 'Ayat
Al-Kursi') there is a lot Favor for you kept by ALLAH [S.W.T].]

Some Hadith
Regarding Salah/Prayer/Namaaz
Sahih Muslim: Chapter 13, Book 32: Virtue, Good Manners And Joining Of The
Ties Of Relationship, Number 6246:
Abu Dharr (R.A) reported:
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] as saying that
ALLAH [S.W.T], the EXALTED and GLORIOUS, said: MY servants, I have made oppression
unlawful for ME and unlawful for you, so do not commit oppression against one another.
MY servants, all of you are liable to err except one whom I guide on the right path,
so seek right guidance from ME so that I should direct you to the right path. O
MY servants, all of you are hungry (needy) except one whom I feed, so beg food from
ME, so that I may give that to you. O MY servants, all of you are naked (need clothes)
except one whom I provide garments, so beg clothes from ME, so that I should clothe
you. O MY servants, you commit error night and day and I am there to pardon your
sins, so beg pardon from ME, so that I should grant you pardon. O MY servants, you
can neither do ME any harm nor can you do ME any good. O MY servants, even if the
first amongst you and the last amongst you and even the whole of human race of yours,
and that of jinns even, become (equal in) ALLAH [S.W.T] conscious like the heart
of a single person amongst you, nothing would add to MY Power. O MY servants, even
if the first amongst you and the last amongst you and the whole human race of yours
and that of the jinns too in unison become the most wicked (all beating) like the
heart of a single person, it would cause no loss to MY Power. O MY servants, even
if the first amongst you and the last amongst you and the whole human race of yours
and that of jinns also all stand in one plain ground and you ask ME and I confer
upon every person what he asks for, it would not in any way, cause any loss to ME
(even less) than that which is caused to the ocean by dipping the needle in it.
MY servants, these for you I shall reward you for then, so he who deeds of yours
which I am recording finds good should Praise ALLAH and he who does not find that
should not blame anyone but his ownself. Sa'id (R.A) said: That when Abu Idris Khaulini
(R.A) narrated this hadith he knelt upon his knees.
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 9, Book 93: Oneness, Uniqueness of ALLAH [S.W.T] (Tawheed), Number 501:
Narrated Abu Huraira
(R.A):
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "When ALLAH [S.W.T]
Created the Creation, HE wrote in HIS Book--and HE wrote (that) about HIMSELF, and
it is placed with HIM on the Throne--'Verily MY Mercy overcomes MY Anger.'"
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 8, Book 75: Invocations, Number 417:
Narrated Abu Huraira
(R.A):
ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said, "ALLAH
[S.W.T] has some Angels (P.B.U.T) who look for those who celebrate the Praises of
ALLAH [S.W.T] on the roads and paths. And when they find some people celebrating
the Praises of ALLAH [S.W.T], they call each other, saying, "Come to the object
of your pursuit.'" He added, "Then the Angels (P.B.U.T) encircle them
with their wings up to the sky of the world." He added. "(after those
people celebrated the Praises of ALLAH [S.W.T], and the Angels (P.B.U.T) go back),
their LORD, asks them (those Angels (P.B.U.T)) - though HE knows better than them----'What
do MY slaves say?' The Angels (P.B.U.T) reply, 'they say: Subhan ALLAH, ALLAHU Akbar,
and Alham-du-lillah, ALLAH [S.W.T] then says 'Did they see ME?' The Angels (P.B.U.T)
reply, 'No! By ALLAH [S.W.T], they didn't see YOU.' ALLAH [S.W.T] says, How it would
have been if they saw ME?' The Angels (P.B.U.T) reply, 'If they saw YOU, they would
Worship YOU more devoutly and celebrate YOUR Glory more deeply, and declare YOUR
freedom from any resemblance to anything more often.' ALLAH [S.W.T] says (to the
Angels (P.B.U.T)), 'What do they ask ME for?' The Angels (P.B.U.T) reply, 'They
ask YOU for Paradise .' ALLAH [S.W.T] says (to the
Angels (P.B.U.T)), 'Did they see it?' The Angels (P.B.U.T) say, 'No! By ALLAH [S.W.T],
O LORD! They did not see it.' ALLAH [S.W.T] says, How it would have been if they
saw it?' The Angels (P.B.U.T) say, 'If they saw it, they would have greater covetousness
for it and would seek it with greater zeal and would have greater desire for it.'
ALLAH [S.W.T] says, 'From what do they seek refuge?' The Angels (P.B.U.T) reply,
'They seek refuge from the (Hell) Fire.' ALLAH [S.W.T] says, 'Did they see it?'
The Angels (P.B.U.T) say, 'No! By ALLAH [S.W.T], O LORD! They did not see it.' ALLAH
[S.W.T] says, How it would have been if they saw it?' The Angels (P.B.U.T) say,
'If they saw it they would flee from it with the extreme fleeing and would have
extreme fear from it.' Then ALLAH [S.W.T] says, 'I make you witnesses that I have
Forgiven them."' ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] added, "One of the
Angels (P.B.U.T) would say, 'There was so-and-so amongst them, and he was not one
of them, but he had just come for some need.' ALLAH [S.W.T] would say, 'These are
those people whose companions will not be reduced to misery.'"

The Prophet [S.A.W.S] narrating about his LORD
and said, "ALLAH [S.W.T] ordered (the appointed Angels (P.B.U.T) over you)
that the good and the bad deeds be written, and HE then showed (the way) how (to
write). If somebody intends to do a good deed and he does not do it, then ALLAH
[S.W.T] will write for him a full good deed (in his account with HIM); and if he
intends to do a good deed and actually did it, then ALLAH [S.W.T] will write for
him (in his account with HIM) (its reward equal) from ten to seven hundred times
to many more times: and if somebody intended to do a bad deed and he does not do
it, then ALLAH [S.W.T] will write a full good deed (in his account with HIM), and
if he intended to do it (a bad deed) and actually did it, then ALLAH [S.W.T] will

ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said, "ALLAH
[S.W.T] said, 'I will declare war against him who shows hostility to a pious worshiper
of MINE. And the most beloved things with which MY slave comes nearer to ME, is
what I have enjoined upon him; and MY slave keeps on coming closer to ME through
performing Nawafil (praying or doing extra deeds besides what is obligatory) till
I love him, so I become his sense of hearing with which he hears, and his sense
of sight with which he sees, and his hand with which he grips, and his leg with
which he walks; and if he asks ME, I will give him, and if he asks MY Protection
(Refuge), I will Protect him; (i.e. give him MY Refuge) and I do not hesitate to
do anything as I hesitate to take the soul of the believer, for he hates death,
and I hate to disappoint him."

says: 'I am just as MY slave thinks I am, (i.e. I am able to do for him what he
thinks I can do for him) and I am with him if he remembers ME. If he remembers ME
in himself, I too, remember him in MYSELF; and if he remembers ME in a group of
people, I remember him in a group that is better than they; and if he comes one

to ME, I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and if he comes to

Narrated Ibn 'Umar
(R.A):
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said, "Your
stay (in this world) in comparison to the stay of the nations preceding you, is
like the period between 'Asr prayer and the sun set (in comparison to a whole day).
The people of the Torah were given the Torah and they acted on it till midday and
then they were unable to carry on. And they were given (a reward equal to) one Qirat
each. Then the people of the Gospel were given the Gospel and they acted on it till
'Asr Prayer and then they were unable to carry on, so they were given a reward equal
to) one Qirat each. Then you were given the Qur'an and you acted on it till sunset,
therefore you were given (a reward equal to) two Qirats each. On that, the people
of the Scriptures said, 'These people (Muslims) did less work than we but they took
a bigger reward.' ALLAH [S.W.T] said (to them). 'Have I done any oppression to you
as regards your rights?' They said, "No." Then ALLAH [S.W.T] said, 'That
is MY Blessing which I grant to whomsoever I Will.'"

whom ALLAH [S.W.T] and HIS Apostle [S.A.W.S) become dearer than anything else.
2. Who loves a
person and he loves him Only for ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Sake.
3. Who hates to

Chapter 23, Book 1: Faith (Kitab Al Iman), Number 0096:
Abu Huraira
(R.A) reported:
The Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]
observed: You shall not enter Paradise so long
as you do not affirm belief (in all those things which are the articles of
faith) and you will not believe as long as you do not love one another. Should
I not direct you to a thing which, if you do, will foster love amongst you:
(i.e.) give currency to (the practice of paying salutation to one another by
saying: as-salamu alaikum.

Suhaib (R.A) reported:
That ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] said:
Strange are the ways of a believer for there is good in every affair of his and
this is not the case with anyone else except in the case of a believer for if he
has an occasion to feel delight, he thanks (ALLAH [S.W.T]), thus there is a good
for him in it, and if he gets into trouble and shows resignation (and endures it
patiently), there is a good for him in it.

ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said: Islam
is based on (the following) five (principles):
1. To testify
that none has the right to be Worshiped but ALLAH [S.W.T] and Muhammad
[S.A.W.S] is ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle.
2. To offer the
(compulsory congregational) Prayers dutifully and perfectly.
3. To pay Zakat
(i.e. obligatory charity).
4. To perform
Hajj (i.e. Pilgrimage to Mecca ).
5. To observe
Fast during the month of Ramadan.
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 1, Book 2: Belief, Number 47:
Narrated Abu Huraira
(R.A):
One day while the Prophet [S.A.W.S] was sitting
in the company of some people, (The Angel) Gabriel (P.B.U.H) came and asked, "What
is faith?" ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] replied, 'Faith is to believe
in ALLAH [S.W.T], HIS Angels (P.B.U.T), (the) meeting with HIM, HIS Apostles (P.B.U.T),
and to believe in Resurrection." Then he further asked, "What is Islam?"
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] replied, "To Worship ALLAH [S.W.T] Alone
and none else, to offer prayers perfectly to pay the compulsory charity (Zakat)
and to observe fasts during the month of Ramadan." Then he further asked, "What
is Ihsan (perfection)?" ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] replied, "To
Worship ALLAH [S.W.T] as if you see HIM, and if you cannot achieve this state of
devotion then you must consider that HE is looking at you." Then he further
asked, "When will the Hour be established?" ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S]
replied, "The answerer has no better knowledge than the questioner. But I will
inform you about its portents.
1. When a slave (lady)
gives birth to her master.
2. When the shepherds
of black camels start boasting and competing with others in the construction of
higher buildings. And the Hour is one of five things which nobody knows except ALLAH
[S.W.T]. The Prophet [S.A.W.S] then recited: "Verily, with ALLAH (Alone) is
the Knowledge of the Hour--." (31.34) Then that man (Gabriel (P.B.U.H)) left
and the Prophet [S.A.W.S] asked his companions (R.A) to call him back, but they
could not see him. Then the Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "That was Gabriel (P.B.U.H)
who came to teach the people their religion." Abu 'Abdullah (R.A) said: He
(the Prophet [S.A.W.S]) considered all that as a part of faith.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 4, Book 2: Purification (Kitab Al-Taharah), Number 0451:
'Uqba b. 'Amir (R.A)
reported:
We were entrusted with the task of tending the
camels. On my turn when I came back in the evening after grazing them in the pastures,
I found ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Messenger [S.A.W.S] stand and address the people. I heard
these words of his: If any Muslim performs ablution well, then stands and prays
two rak'ahs setting about them with his heart as well as his face, Paradise would be guaranteed to him. I said: What a fine thing
is this! And a narrator who was before me said: The first was better than even this.
When I cast a glance, I saw that it was 'Umar (R.A) who said: I see that you have
just come and observed: If anyone amongst you performs the ablution, and then completes
the ablution well and then says: I testify that there is no god but ALLAH and that
Muhammad [S.A.W.S] is the servant of ALLAH and HIS Messenger, the eight gates of
Paradise would be opened for him and he may enter by whichever of them he wishes.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 131, Book 4: Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat), Number 1756:
‘Uqba b. ‘Amir (R.A)
reported:
When we were in Suffa, the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T]
[S.A.W.S] came out and said: Which of you would like to go out every morning to
Buthan or al-’Aqiq and bring two large she camels without being guilty of sin or
without severing the ties of kinship? We said: Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S],
we would like to do it. Upon this he said: Does not one of you go out in the morning
to the Mosque and teach or recite two verses from the Book of ALLAH [S.W.T], the
MAJESTIC and GLORIOUS? That is better for him than two she camels, and three verses
are better (than three she camels), and four verses are better for him than four
(she camels), and to on their number in camels.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 132, Book 4: Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat), Number 1757:
Abu Umama (R.A) said
he heard:
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] say: Recite
the Qur’an, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those
who recite It. Recite the two bright ones, Surah al-Baqara and Surah Al ‘Imran,
for on the Day of Resurrection they will come as two clouds or two shades, or two
flocks of birds in ranks, pleading for those who recite them. Recite Surah al-Baqara,
for to take recourse to it is a blessing and to give it up is a cause of grief,
and the magicians cannot confront it. (Mu’awiya (R.A) said: It has been conveyed
to me that here Batala means magicians.)
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 133, Book 4: Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat), Number 1760:
Ibn ‘Abbas (R.A)
reported:
That while Gabriel (P.B.U.H) was sitting with the
Apostle [S.A.W.S] he heard a creaking sound above him. He lifted his head and said:
This as a gate opened in heaven today which had never been opened before. Then when
an Angel (P.B.U.H) descended through it, he said: This is an Angel (P.B.U.H) who
came down to the earth who had never come down before. He greeted and said: Rejoice
in two lights given to you which have not been given to any Prophet (P.B.U.T) before
you: Falihat al-Kitab (1.1-7) and the concluding verses of Suarah al-Baqara (2.286).
You will never recite a letter from them for which you will not be given (a reward).

Ubayy b. Ka’b (R.A)
said:
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] said: O
Abu’l-Mundhir (R.A), do you know the verse from the Book of ALLAH [S.W.T] which,
according to you, is the greatest? I said: ALLAH [S.W.T] and HIS Apostle [S.A.W.S]
know best. He again said: Abu’l-Mundhir (R.A), do you know the verse from the Book
of ALLAH [S.W.T] which, according to you, is the greatest? I said: "ALLAH,
there is no god but HE, the LIVING, the ETERNAL." (Ayat Al-Kursi (2.255)) Thereupon
he struck me on my breast and said: May knowledge be pleasant for you, O Abu’l-Mundhir

said":- "O you who believe, give your response to ALLAH (by obeying
HIM) and to HIS Apostle." (8.24) Then he added, "Shall I tell you the
most superior Sura in the Qur'an before I go out of the Mosque?" When the
Prophet [S.A.W.S] intended to go out (of the Mosque), I reminded him and he

which is the seven oft repeated verses (Al-Mathani) and the Grand Qur’an which

'Say (O Muhammad): "HE is ALLAH, the ONE." (112.1) And he recited it repeatedly.
When it was morning, he went to the Prophet [S.A.W.S] and informed him about that
as if he considered that the recitation of that Surah by itself was not enough.
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said, "By HIM in WHOSE Hand my life is, it

is ALLAH, the ONE."' (112.1) When they returned (from the battle), they
mentioned that to the Prophet [S.A.W.S]. He said (to them), "Ask him why
he does so." They asked him and he said, "I do so because it mentions
the Qualities of the BENEFICENT and I love to recite it (in my prayer)."
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said (to them), "Tell him that ALLAH [S.W.T] loves

Our Beloved Prophet [S.A.W.S] said to his uncle

you! Shall I not do mercy on you! When you do ten things ALLAH [S.W.T] will forgive
your sins: of the future and of the past; new and old; those you have forgotten
and those you did knowingly; big and small; hidden and revealed. Then Prophet [S.A.W.S]
explained the taught the way to pray Salatul Tasbih and then said if you can pray

enjoyment and they pray like us and fast as we do. They have more money by which
they perform the Hajj, and 'Umra; fight and struggle in ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Cause and
give in charity." The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "Shall I not tell you a
thing upon which if you acted you would catch up with those who have surpassed you?
Nobody would overtake you and you would be better than the people amongst whom you
live except those who would do the same. Say, "Subhan-ALLAH", "Alhamdu-lillah"
and "ALLAHU Akbar" thirty three times each after every (compulsory) prayer."
We differed and some of us said that we should say, "Subhan-ALLAH" thirty
three times and "Alhamdu lillah" thirty three times and "ALLAHU Akbar"
thirty four times. I went to the Prophet [S.A.W.S] who said, "Say, "Subhan-ALLAH"

three times."

[S.A.W.S], the rich have taken away (air the) reward. They observe prayer as we
do; they keep the fasts as we keep, and they give sadaqa out of their surplus riches.
Upon this he (the Holy Prophet [S.A.W.S]) said: Has ALLAH [S.W.T] not prescribed
for you (a course) by following which you can (also) do sadaqa? In every declaration
of the Glorification of ALLAH [S.W.T] (i.e. saying Subhan ALLAH) there is a sadaqa,
and every Takbir (i.e. saying ALLAHU Akbar) is a sadaqa, and every Praise of HIS
(saying al-Hamdu Lillah) is a sadaqa and every declaration that HE is ONE (La illha
ill-ALLAH) is a sadaqa, and enjoining of good is a sadaqa, and forbidding of that
which is evil is a sadaqa, and in man's sexual intercourse (with his wife,) there
is a sadaqa. They (the Companions (R.A)) said: Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S],
is there reward for him who satisfies his sexual passion among us? He said: Tell
me, if he were to devote it to something forbidden, would it not be a sin on his
part? Similarly, if he were to devote it to something lawful, he should have a reward.

declares ALLAH [S.W.T] to be ONE, Glorifies ALLAH [S.W.T], and seeks Forgiveness
from ALLAH [S.W.T], and removes stone, or thorn, or bone from people's path, and
enjoins what is good and forbids from evil, to the number of those three hundred
and sixty-four, will walk that day having removed himself from Hell.

as given for manumitting ten slaves; and one hundred good deeds will be written
in his accounts, and one hundred sins will be deducted from his accounts, and it
(his saying) will be a shield for him from satan on that day till night, and nobody
will be able to do a better deed except the one who does more than he."

HE is POTENT over everything" one hundred times every day there is a reward
of emancipating ten slaves for him, and there are recorded hundred virtues to his
credit, and hundred vices are blotted out from his scroll, and that is a safeguard
for him against the satan on that day till evening and no one brings anything more
excellent than this, except one who has done more than this (who utters these words
more than one hundred times and does more good acts) and he who utters: "Hallowed
be ALLAH and all Praise is due to HIM," one hundred times a day, his sins are
obliterated even if they are equal to the extent of the foam of the ocean.

"Hallowed be ALLAH, the GREAT."
Sahih Bukhari:

(R.A):
While we were with ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S]
in a holy battle, we never went up a hill or reached its peak or went down a valley
but raised our voices with Takbir. ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] came close
to us and said, "O people! Don't exert yourselves, for you do not call a deaf
or an absent one, but you call the ALL-LISTENER, the ALL-SEER." The Prophet
[S.A.W.S] then said, "O 'Abdullah bin Qais (R.A)! Shall I teach you a sentence
which is from the treasures of Paradise ? (It is):
'La haula wala quwata illa billah. (There is neither might nor power except with

without thinking of its gravity and because of that he will be thrown into the Hell-Fire."

Verily the Apostle of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] recited
the words of ALLAH [S.W.T], the GREAT and GLORIOUS, that Ibrahim (P.B.U.H) uttered.
My LORD! Lo! They have led many of mankind astray:" But whoso followeth me,
he verily is of me" (al-Qur'an, 14.36) and Jesus (P.B.U.H) said:" If THOU
punisheth them, Lo! They are THY slaves, and if THOU forgiveth them-verily THOU
art the MIGHTY, the WISE" (al-Qur'an, 5.118). Then he raised his hands and
said: O LORD, my Ummah, my Ummah, and wept; so ALLAH [S.W.T] the HIGH and the EXALTED
said: O Gabriel (P.B.U.H), go to Muhammad [S.A.W.S] (Though your LORD knows it fully
well) and ask him: What makes thee weep? So Gabriel (P.B.U.H) came to him and asked
him, and the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] informed him what he had said
(Though ALLAH [S.W.T] knew it fully well). Upon this ALLAH [S.W.T] said: O Gabriel
(P.B.U.H), go to Muhammad [S.A.W.S] and say: Verily WE will please thee with regard
to your Ummah and would not displease thee.

and then believed in the Prophet Muhammad [S.A.W.S] (i.e. has embraced Islam).
2. A slave who discharges
his duties to ALLAH [S.W.T] and his master.
3. A master of a
woman-slave who teaches her good manners and educates her in the best possible way

from his people.

I will come to the gate of Paradise on the Day
of Resurrection and would seek its opening and the Keeper (P.B.U.H) would say: Who
art thou? I would say: Muhammad [S.A.W.S]. He would then say: It is for thee that
I have been ordered, and not to open it for anyone before thee.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 84, Book 1: Faith (Kitab Al Iman), Number 0386:
Abu Huraira (R.A)
reported:
The Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] said:
There is for every Apostle (P.B.U.T) a prayer, and I intend (if ALLAH so willed)
that I would reserve my prayer for the intercession of my Ummah on the Day of Resurrection.

ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said,
"My similitude in comparison with the other Prophets (P.B.U.T) before me,
is that of a man who has built a house nicely and beautifully, except for a
place of one brick in a corner. The people go about it and wonder at its
beauty, but say: 'Would that this brick be put in its place!' So I am that
brick, and I am the last of the Prophets (P.B.U.T)."

Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 5, Book 57: Companions (R.A) of The Prophet [S.A.W.S], Number 37:

A man asked the Prophet [S.A.W.S] about the Hour
(i.e. Day of Judgment) saying, "When will the Hour be?" The Prophet [S.A.W.S]
said, "What have you prepared for it?" The man said, "Nothing, except
that I love ALLAH [S.W.T] and HIS Apostle [S.A.W.S]." The Prophet [S.A.W.S]
said, "You will be with those whom you love." We had never been so glad
as we were on hearing that saying of the Prophet [S.A.W.S] (i.e. "You will
be with those whom you love.") Therefore, I love the Prophet [S.A.W.S], Abu
Bakr and 'Umar (R.A), and I hope that I will be with them because of my love for
them though my deeds are not similar to theirs.

Who will be the luckiest person who will gain your intercession on the Day of Resurrection?"
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "O Abu Huraira (R.A)! I have thought that none
will ask me about this Hadith before you, as I know your longing for the (learning
of) Hadiths. The luckiest person who will have my intercession on the Day of Resurrection
will be the one who said, 'None has the right to be Worshiped but ALLAH,' sincerely
from the bottom of his heart."

live to old age and they do not cause him to be granted admittance to Paradise."
Sahih Bukhari:

We used to say the greeting, name and greet each
other in the prayer. ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] heard it and said:--"Say,
'At-tahiyyatu lil-lahi was-salawatu wat-taiyibatu. Assalamu 'Alaika aiyuha-n-Nabiyu
wa-rahmatu-l-lahi wa-barakatuhu. Assalamu alaina wa- 'ala 'ibadi-l-lahi as-salihin. Ashhadu an

are for ALLAH and all the Prayers and all the Good things (are for ALLAH). Peace
be on you, O Prophet, and ALLAH's Mercy and Blessings (are on you). And Peace be
on us and on the good (pious) worshipers of ALLAH. I testify that none has the right
to be Worshiped but ALLAH and that Muhammad is HIS slave and Apostle.) So, when
you have said this, then you have surely sent the greetings to every good (pious)
worshiper of ALLAH [S.W.T], whether he be in the Heaven or on the Earth."

[S.A.W.S] saying, 'O ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S]! How should one (ask ALLAH
[S.W.T] to) send blessings on you, the members of the family, for ALLAH [S.W.T]
has taught us how to salute you (in the prayer)?' He said, 'Say: O ALLAH! Send YOUR
Mercy on Muhammad and on the family of Muhammad, as YOU sent YOUR Mercy on Abraham
and on the family of Abraham, for YOU are the MOST PRAISEWORTHY, the MOST GLORIOUS.
O ALLAH! Send YOUR Blessings on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as YOU sent
YOUR Blessings on Abraham and on the family of Abraham, for YOU are the MOST PRAISEWORTHY,

mother." The man said. "Who is next?" The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said,
"Your mother." The man further said, "Who is next?" The Prophet

and his property in danger (for ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Sake) and does not return with any
of those things."

ALLAH [S.W.T], the EXALTED and MAJESTIC said: Every act of the son of Adam (P.B.U.H)
is for him, except fasting. It is (exclusively) meant for ME and I (Alone) will
reward it. Fasting is a shield. When any one of you is fasting on a day, he should
neither indulge in obscene language, nor raise the voice; or if anyone reviles him
or tries to quarrel with him he should say: I am a person fasting. By HIM, in WHOSE
Hand is the life of Muhammad [S.A.W.S], the breath of the observer of fast is sweeter
to ALLAH [S.W.T] on the Day of Judgment than the fragrance of musk. The one who
fasts has two (occasions) of joy, one when he breaks the fast he is glad with the
breaking of (the fast) and one when he meets his LORD he is glad with his fast.

[S.A.W.S] concluded with these words: There would be bounties which the eye has
not seen and the ear has not heard and no human heart has ever perceived them. He
then recited this verse: "They forsake (their) beds, calling upon their LORD

Worshiping in the mornings, the nights."

month of Ramadan, will rightfully be granted Paradise by ALLAH [S.W.T], no matter
whether he fights in ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Cause or remains in the land where he is born."
The people said, "O ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S]! Shall we acquaint the
people with this good news?" He said, "Paradise has one-hundred grades
which ALLAH [S.W.T] has reserved for the Mujahidin who fight in HIS Cause, and the
distance between each of two grades is like the distance between the Heaven and
the Earth. So, when you ask ALLAH [S.W.T] (for something), ask for Al-Firdaus which
is the best and highest part of Paradise." (i.e. the sub-narrator added, "I
think the Prophet [S.A.W.S] also said, 'Above it (i.e. Al-Firdaus) is the Throne
of BENEFICENT (i.e. ALLAH [S.W.T]), and from it originate the rivers of Paradise .")
Sahih Muslim: Chapter 83, Book 1: Faith (Kitab Al Iman), Number 0363:
It is reported on
the authority of al-Mughira b. Shu’ba (R.A):
That the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] said:
Moses (P.B.U.H) asked his LORD: Who amongst the inhabitants of Paradise is the lowest to rank? HE (ALLAH [S.W.T]) said: The
person who would be admitted into Paradise last of all among those deserving of
Paradise who are admitted to it. I would be said
to him: Enter Paradise. He would say: O my LORD! How (should I enter) while the
people have settled in their apartments and taken the shares (portions)? It would
be said to him: Would you be pleased if there be for you like the kingdom of a king
amongst the kings of the world? He would say: I am pleased my LORD. HE (ALLAH [S.W.T])
would say: For you is that, and like that, and like that, and like that, and that.
He would say at the fifth (point): I am well pleased, my LORD. HE (ALLAH [S.W.T])
would say: It is for you and ten times like it, and for you is what your self desires
and your eye enjoys. He would say: I am well pleased, my LORD. He (Moses (P.B.U.H))
said: (Which is) the highest of their (inhabitants of Paradise) ranks? HE (ALLAH
[S.W.T]) said: They are those Whom I choose. I establish their Honor with MY OWN
Hand and then set a seal over it (and they would be Blessed with Bounties) which
no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no human mind has perceived: and this is substantiated
by the Book of ALLAH [S.W.T], the EXALTED and GREAT: "So no soul knows what
delight of the eye is hidden for them; a reward for what they did" (32.17).
Sahih Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 4: Wudu’, Number 184:
Narrated Asma' bint
Abu Bakr (R.A):
I came to 'Aisha (R.A) the wife of the Prophet
[S.A.W.S] during the solar eclipse. The people were standing and offering the prayer
and she was also praying. I asked her, "What is wrong with the people?"
She beckoned with her hand towards the sky and said, "Subhan ALLAH." I
asked her, "Is there a sign?" She pointed out, "Yes." So I,
too, stood for the prayer till I fell unconscious and later on I poured water on
my head. After the prayer, ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] Praised and Glorified
ALLAH and said, "Just now I have seen something which I never saw before at
this place of mine, including Paradise and Hell. I have been inspired (and have
understood) that you will be put to trials in your graves and these trials will
be like the trials of Ad-dajjal, or nearly like it (the sub narrator is not sure
of what Asma' (R.A) said). Angels (P.B.U.T) will come to every one of you and ask,
'What do you know about this man?' A believer will reply, 'He is Muhammad [S.A.W.S],
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle, and he came to us with self-evident truth and guidance.
So we accepted his teaching, believed and followed him.' Then the Angels (P.B.U.T)
will say to him to sleep in peace as they have come to know that he was a believer.
On the other hand a hypocrite or a doubtful person will reply, 'I do not know but
heard the people saying something and so I said the same.'
Sahih Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 8: Prayers, Number

Narrated Abu Dhar
(R.A):
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said, "While
I was at Mecca the roof of my house was opened and Gabriel (P.B.U.H) descended,
opened my chest, and washed it with Zam-zam water. Then he brought a golden tray
full of wisdom and faith and having poured its contents into my chest, he closed
it. Then he took my hand and ascended with me to the nearest heaven, when I reached
the nearest heaven, Gabriel (P.B.U.H) said to the gatekeeper (P.B.U.H) of the heaven,
'Open (the gate).' The gatekeeper (P.B.U.H) asked, 'Who is it?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H)
answered: 'Gabriel (P.B.U.H).' He asked, 'Is there anyone with you?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H)
replied, 'Yes, Muhammad [S.A.W.S] is with me.' He asked, 'Has he been called?' Gabriel
(P.B.U.H) said, 'Yes.' So the gate was opened and we went over the nearest heaven
and there we saw a man sitting with some people on his right and some on his left.
When he looked towards his right, he laughed and when he looked toward his left
he wept. Then he said, 'Welcome! O pious Prophet and pious son.' I asked Gabriel
(P.B.U.H), 'Who is he?' He replied, 'He is Adam (P.B.U.H) and the people on his
right and left are the souls of his offspring. Those on his right are the people
of Paradise and those on his left are the people of Hell and when he looks towards
his right he laughs and when he looks towards his left he weeps.' Then he ascended
with me till he reached the second heaven and he (Gabriel (P.B.U.H)) said to its
gatekeeper (P.B.U.H), 'Open (the gate).' The gatekeeper (P.B.U.H) said to him the
same as the gatekeeper (P.B.U.H) of the first heaven had said and he opened the
gate. Anas (R.A) said: "Abu Dhar (R.A) added that the Prophet [S.A.W.S] met
Adam, Idris, Moses, Jesus and Abraham (P.B.U.T), he (Abu Dhar (R.A)) did not mention
on which heaven they were but he mentioned that he (the Prophet [S.A.W.S]) met Adam
(P.B.U.H) on the nearest heaven and Abraham (P.B.U.H) on the sixth heaven. Anas
(R.A) said, "When Gabriel (P.B.U.H) along with the Prophet [S.A.W.S] passed
by Idris (P.B.U.H), the latter said, 'Welcome! O pious Prophet and pious brother.'
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] asked, 'Who is he?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H) replied, 'He is Idris
(P.B.U.H)." The Prophet [S.A.W.S] added, "I passed by Moses (P.B.U.H)
and he said, 'Welcome! O pious Prophet and pious brother.' I asked Gabriel (P.B.U.H),
'Who is he?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H) replied, 'He is Moses (P.B.U.H).' Then I passed by
Jesus (P.B.U.H) and he said, 'Welcome! O pious brother and pious Prophet.' I asked,
'Who is he?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H) replied, 'He is Jesus (P.B.U.H). Then I passed by
Abraham (P.B.U.H) and he said, 'Welcome! O pious Prophet and pious son.' I asked
Gabriel (P.B.U.H), 'Who is he?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H) replied, 'He is Abraham (P.B.U.H).
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] added, 'Then Gabriel (P.B.U.H) ascended with me to a place
where I heard the creaking of the pens." Ibn Hazm and Anas bin Malik (R.A)
said: The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "Then ALLAH [S.W.T] enjoined fifty prayers
on my followers when I returned with this order of ALLAH [S.W.T], I passed by Moses
(P.B.U.H) who asked me, 'What has ALLAH [S.W.T] enjoined on your followers?' I replied,
'He has enjoined fifty prayers on them.' Moses (P.B.U.H) said, 'Go back to your
LORD (and appeal for reduction) for your followers will not be able to bear it.'
(So I went back to ALLAH [S.W.T] and requested for reduction) and HE reduced it
to half. When I passed by Moses (P.B.U.H) again and informed him about it, he said,
'Go back to your LORD as your followers will not be able to bear it.' So I returned
to ALLAH [S.W.T] and requested for further reduction and half of it was reduced.
I again passed by Moses (P.B.U.H) and he said to me: 'Return to your LORD, for your
followers will not be able to bear it. So I returned to ALLAH [S.W.T] and HE said,
'These are five prayers and they are all (equal to) fifty (in reward) for MY Word
does not change.' I returned to Moses (P.B.U.H) and he told me to go back once again.
I replied, 'Now I feel shy of asking my LORD again.' Then Gabriel (P.B.U.H) took
me till we '' reached Sidrat-il-Muntaha (Lote tree of; the utmost boundary) which
was shrouded in colors, indescribable. Then I was admitted into Paradise where I
found small (tents or) walls (made) of pearls and its earth was of musk."
Sahih Bukhari: Volume 5, Book 58: Merits of
the Helpers in Medina
(Ansaar), Number 227:
Narrated Abbas bin
Malik (R.A):
Malik bin Sasaa (R.A) said that ALLAH [S.W.T]'s
Apostle [S.A.W.S] described to them his Night Journey saying, "While I was
lying in Al-Hatim or Al-Hijr, suddenly someone came to me and cut my body open from
here to here." I asked Al-Jarud (R.A) who was by my side, "What does he
mean?" He said, "It means from his throat to his pubic area," or
said, "From the top of the chest." The Prophet [S.A.W.S] further said,
"He then took out my heart. Then a gold tray of Belief was brought to me and
my heart was washed and was filled (with Belief) and then returned to its original
place. Then a white animal which was smaller than a mule and bigger than a donkey
was brought to me." (On this Al-Jarud (R.A) asked, "Was it the Buraq,
O Abu Hamza (R.A)?" I (i.e. Anas (R.A)) replied in the affirmative). The Prophet
[S.A.W.S] said, "The animal's step (was so wide that it) reached the farthest
point within the reach of the animal's sight. I was carried on it, and Gabriel (P.B.U.H)
set out with me till we reached the nearest heaven. When he asked for the gate to
be opened, it was asked, 'Who is it?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H) answered, 'Gabriel (P.B.U.H).'
It was asked, 'Who is accompanying you?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H) replied, 'Muhammad [S.A.W.S].'
It was asked, 'Has Muhammad [S.A.W.S] been called?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H) replied in
the affirmative. Then it was said, 'He is welcomed. What an excellent visit his
is!' The gate was opened, and when I went over the first heaven, I saw Adam (P.B.U.H)
there. Gabriel (P.B.U.H) said (to me). 'This is your father, Adam (P.B.U.H); pay
him your greetings.' So I greeted him and he returned the greeting to me and said,
'You are welcomed, O pious son and pious Prophet.' Then Gabriel (P.B.U.H) ascended
with me till we reached the second heaven. Gabriel (P.B.U.H) asked for the gate
to be opened. It was asked, 'Who is it?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H) answered, 'Gabriel (P.B.U.H).'
It was asked, 'Who is accompanying you?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H) replied, 'Muhammad [S.A.W.S].'
It was asked, 'Has he been called?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H) answered in the affirmative.
Then it was said, 'He is welcomed. What an excellent visit his is!' The gate was
opened. When I went over the second heaven, there I saw Yahya (i.e. John) and 'Isa
(i.e. Jesus) (P.B.U.T) who were cousins of each other. Gabriel (P.B.U.H) said (to
me), 'These are John and Jesus (P.B.U.T); pay them your greetings.' So I greeted
them and both of them returned my greetings to me and said, 'You are welcomed, O
pious brother and pious Prophet.' Then Gabriel (P.B.U.H) ascended with me to the
third heaven and asked for its gate to be opened. It was asked, 'Who is it?' Gabriel
(P.B.U.H) replied, 'Gabriel (P.B.U.H).' It was asked, 'Who is accompanying you?'
Gabriel (P.B.U.H) replied, 'Muhammad [S.A.W.S].' It was asked, 'Has he been called?'
Gabriel (P.B.U.H) replied in the affirmative. Then it was said, 'He is welcomed,
what an excellent visit his is!' The gate was opened, and when I went over the third
heaven there I saw Joseph (P.B.U.H). Gabriel (P.B.U.H) said (to me), 'This is Joseph
(P.B.U.H); pay him your greetings.' So I greeted him and he returned the greeting
to me and said, 'You are welcomed, O pious brother and pious Prophet.' Then Gabriel
(P.B.U.H) ascended with me to the fourth heaven and asked for its gate to be opened.
It was asked, 'Who is it?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H) replied, 'Gabriel (P.B.U.H)' It was
asked, 'Who is accompanying you?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H) replied, 'Muhammad [S.A.W.S].'
It was asked, 'Has he been called?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H) replied in the affirmative.
Then it was said, 'He is welcomed, what an excellent visit his is!' The gate was
opened, and when I went over the fourth heaven, there I saw Idris (P.B.U.H). Gabriel
(P.B.U.H) said (to me), 'This is Idris (P.B.U.H); pay him your greetings.' So I
greeted him and he returned the greeting to me and said, 'You are welcomed, O pious
brother and pious Prophet.' Then Gabriel (P.B.U.H) ascended with me to the fifth
heaven and asked for its gate to be opened. It was asked, 'Who is it?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H)
replied, 'Gabriel (P.B.U.H).' It was asked. 'Who is accompanying you?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H)
replied, 'Muhammad [S.A.W.S].' It was asked, 'Has he been called?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H)
replied in the affirmative. Then it was said 'He is welcomed, what an excellent
visit his is!' So when I went over the fifth heaven, there I saw Harun (i.e. Aaron)
(P.B.U.H), Gabriel (P.B.U.H) said, (to me). This is Aaron (P.B.U.H); pay him your
greetings.' I greeted him and he returned the greeting to me and said, 'You are
welcomed, O pious brother and pious Prophet.' Then Gabriel (P.B.U.H) ascended with
me to the sixth heaven and asked for its gate to be opened. It was asked. 'Who is
it?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H) replied, 'Gabriel (P.B.U.H).' It was asked, 'Who is accompanying
you?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H) replied, 'Muhammad [S.A.W.S].' It was asked, 'Has he been
called?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H) replied in the affirmative. It was said, 'He is welcomed.
What an excellent visit his is!' When I went (over the sixth heaven), there I saw
Moses (P.B.U.H). Gabriel (P.B.U.H) said (to me),' This is Moses (P.B.U.H); pay him
your greeting. So I greeted him and he returned the greetings to me and said, 'You
are welcomed, O pious brother and pious Prophet.' When I left him (i.e. Moses (P.B.U.H))
he wept. Someone asked him, 'What makes you weep?' Moses (P.B.U.H) said, 'I weep
because after me there has been sent (as Prophet) a young man whose followers will
enter Paradise in greater numbers than my followers.'
Then Gabriel (P.B.U.H) ascended with me to the seventh heaven and asked for its
gate to be opened. It was asked, 'Who is it?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H) replied, 'Gabriel
(P.B.U.H).' It was asked,' Who is accompanying you?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H) replied,
'Muhammad [S.A.W.S].' It was asked, 'Has he been called?' Gabriel (P.B.U.H) replied
in the affirmative. Then it was said, 'He is welcomed. What an excellent visit his
is!' So when I went (over the seventh heaven), there I saw Abraham (P.B.U.H). Gabriel
(P.B.U.H) said (to me), 'This is your father; pay your greetings to him.' So I greeted
him and he returned the greetings to me and said, 'You are welcomed, O pious son
and pious Prophet.' Then I was made to ascend to Sidrat-ul-Muntaha (i.e. the Lote
Tree of the utmost boundary) Behold! Its fruits were like the jars of Hajr (i.e.
a place near Medina) and its leaves were as big as the ears of elephants. Gabriel
(P.B.U.H) said, 'This is the Lote Tree of the utmost boundary). Behold! There ran
four rivers, two were hidden and two were visible, I asked, 'What are these two
kinds of rivers, O Gabriel (P.B.U.H)?' He replied,' As for the hidden rivers, they
are two rivers in Paradise and the visible rivers are the Nile and the Euphrates.'
Then Al-Bait-ul-Ma'mur (i.e. the Sacred House) was shown to me and a container full
of wine and another full of milk and a third full of honey were brought to me. I
took the milk. Gabriel (P.B.U.H) remarked, 'This is the Islamic religion which you
and your followers are following.' Then the prayers were enjoined on me: They were
fifty prayers a day. When I returned, I passed by Moses (P.B.U.H) who asked (me),
'What have you been ordered to do?' I replied, 'I have been ordered to offer fifty
prayers a day.' Moses (P.B.U.H) said, 'Your followers cannot bear fifty prayers
a day, and by ALLAH [S.W.T], I have tested people before you, and I have tried my
level best with Bani Israel (in vain). Go back to your LORD and ask for reduction
to lessen your followers' burden.' So I went back, and ALLAH [S.W.T] reduced ten
prayers for me. Then again I came to Moses (P.B.U.H), but he repeated the same as
he had said before. Then again I went back to ALLAH [S.W.T] and HE reduced ten more
prayers. When I came back to Moses (P.B.U.H) he said the same, I went back to ALLAH
[S.W.T] and HE ordered me to observe ten prayers a day. When I came back to Moses
(P.B.U.H), he repeated the same advice, so I went back to ALLAH [S.W.T] and was
ordered to observe five prayers a day. When I came back to Moses (P.B.U.H), he said,
'What have you been ordered?' I replied, 'I have been ordered to observe five prayers
a day.' He said, 'Your followers cannot bear five prayers a day, and no doubt, I
have got an experience of the people before you, and I have tried my level best
with Bani Israel, so go back to your LORD and ask for reduction to lessen your follower's
burden.' I said, 'I have requested so much of my LORD that I feel ashamed, but I
am satisfied now and surrender to ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Order.' When I left, I heard a
voice saying, 'I have passed MY Order and have lessened the burden of MY
worshipers."

Baitul-Maqdis for sixteen or seventeen months but he loved to face the Ka'ba (at
Mecca ) so ALLAH
[S.W.T] revealed: "Verily, WE have seen the turning of your face to the heaven!"
(2.144) So the Prophet [S.A.W.S] faced the Ka'ba and the fools amongst the people
namely "the Jews" said, "What has turned them from their Qibla (Bait-ul-Maqdis)
which they formerly observed"" (ALLAH [S.W.T] revealed): "Say: 'To
ALLAH belongs the East and the West. HE guides whom HE will to a straight path'."
(2.142) A man prayed with the Prophet [S.A.W.S] (facing the Ka'ba) and went out.
He saw some of the Ansar praying the 'Asr prayer with their faces towards Bait-ul-Maqdis,
he said, "I bear witness that I prayed with ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S]
facing the Ka'ba." So all the people turned their faces towards the Ka'ba.

Bukhari: Volume 2, Book 13: Friday Prayer, Number 6:
Narrated Abu
Huraira (R.A):
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said,
"Any person who takes a bath on Friday like the bath of Janaba and then
goes for the prayer (in the first hour i.e. early), it is as if he had
sacrificed a camel (in ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Cause); and whoever goes in the second
hour it is as if he had sacrificed a cow; and whoever goes in the third hour,
then it is as if he had sacrificed a horned ram; and if one goes in the fourth
hour, then it is as if he had sacrificed a hen; and whoever goes in the fifth
hour then it is as if he had offered an egg. When the Imam comes out (i.e.
starts delivering the Khutba), the Angels (P.B.U.T) present themselves to
listen to the Khutba."

Mosque), then prays as much as (ALLAH [S.W.T] has) written for him and then
remains silent while the Imam is delivering the Khutba, his sins in-between the

on the Day of Resurrection. They were given the Holy Scripture before us and we
were given the Qur’an after them. And this was the day (Friday) about which
they differed and ALLAH [S.W.T] gave us the guidance (for that). So tomorrow
(i.e. Saturday) is the Jews' (day), and the day after tomorrow (i.e. Sunday) is
the Christians'." The Prophet [S.A.W.S] remained silent (for a while) and
then said, "It is obligatory for every Muslim that he should take a bath
once in seven days, when he should wash his head and body." Narrated Abu

the names of the persons coming to the Mosque in succession according to their arrivals.
The example of the one who enters the Mosque in the earliest hour is that of one
offering a camel (in sacrifice). The one coming next is like one offering a cow

out (for Jumua prayer) they (i.e. Angels (P.B.U.T)) fold their papers and listen
to the Khutba."

fulfill the oaths, to return the greeting and to reply to the sneezer: (saying,
"May ALLAH be Merciful on you," provided the sneezer says, "All the

sins will be forgiven."
Sahih Bukhari: Volume 3, Book 34: Sales and
Trade, Number 330:
Narrated Abu Huraira
(R.A):
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said, "The
congregational prayer of anyone amongst you is more than twenty (five or twenty
seven) times in reward than his prayer in the market or in his house, for if he
performs ablution completely and then goes to the Mosque with the sole intention
of performing the prayer, and nothing urges him to proceed to the Mosque except
the prayer, then, on every step which he takes towards the Mosque, he will be raised
one degree or one of his sins will be forgiven. The Angels (P.B.U.T) will keep on
asking ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Forgiveness and Blessings for everyone of you so long as
he keeps sitting at his praying place. The Angels (P.B.U.T) will say, 'O ALLAH [S.W.T],
Bless him! O ALLAH [S.W.T], be Merciful to him!' as long as he does not do Hadath
or a thing which gives trouble to the other." The Prophet [S.A.W.S] further
said, "One is regarded in prayer so long as one is waiting for the prayer."
Sahih Bukhari: Volume 4, Book 54: Beginning
of Creation, Number 446:

keep on descending from and ascending to the Heaven in turn, some at night and some
by daytime, and all of them assemble together at the time of the Fajr and 'Asr prayers.
Then those who have stayed with you over-night, ascent unto ALLAH [S.W.T] WHO asks
them, and HE knows the answer better than they, "How have you left MY slaves?"
They reply, "We have left them praying as we found them praying." If anyone
of you says "Aameen" (during the Prayer at the end of the recitation of
Surat-al-Faitiha), and the Angels (P.B.U.T) in Heaven say the same, and the two
sayings coincide, all his past sins will be Forgiven."

you coincides with the saying of the Angels (P.B.U.T), his past sins will be Forgiven."

"Who among us has the power to do so, O ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle
[S.A.W.S]?" ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] replied: "ALLAH (the)

recite (these two Suras) and rub his hands over his body hoping for its
blessings.
