Selected Hadith Regarding [Yawm ul-Qiyamah (The Day of
Resurrection), (Day of Judgment)]
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 13, Book 32: Virtue, Good Manners And Joining Of The Ties Of Relationship,
Number 6246:
Abu Dharr (R.A) reported:
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] as saying that
ALLAH [S.W.T], the EXALTED and GLORIOUS, said: MY servants, I have made oppression
unlawful for ME and unlawful for you, so do not commit oppression against one another.
MY servants, all of you are liable to err except one whom I guide on the right path,
so seek right guidance from ME so that I should direct you to the right path. O
MY servants, all of you are hungry (needy) except one whom I feed, so beg food from
ME, so that I may give that to you. O MY servants, all of you are naked (need clothes)
except one whom I provide garments, so beg clothes from ME, so that I should clothe
you. O MY servants, you commit error night and day and I am there to pardon your
sins, so beg pardon from ME, so that I should grant you pardon. O MY servants, you
can neither do ME any harm nor can you do ME any good. O MY servants, even if the
first amongst you and the last amongst you and even the whole of human race of yours,
and that of jinns even, become (equal in) ALLAH [S.W.T] conscious like the heart
of a single person amongst you, nothing would add to MY Power. O MY servants, even
if the first amongst you and the last amongst you and the whole human race of yours
and that of the jinns too in unison become the most wicked (all beating) like the
heart of a single person, it would cause no loss to MY Power. O MY servants, even
if the first amongst you and the last amongst you and the whole human race of yours
and that of jinns also all stand in one plain ground and you ask ME and I confer
upon every person what he asks for, it would not in any way, cause any loss to ME
(even less) than that which is caused to the ocean by dipping the needle in it.
MY servants, these for you I shall reward you for then, so he who deeds of yours
which I am recording finds good should Praise ALLAH and he who does not find that
should not blame anyone but his ownself. Sa'id (R.A) said: That when Abu Idris Khaulini
(R.A) narrated this hadith he knelt upon his knees.
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 8, Book 75: Invocations, Number 417:
Narrated Abu Huraira
(R.A):
ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said, "ALLAH
[S.W.T] has some Angels (P.B.U.T) who look for those who celebrate the Praises of
ALLAH [S.W.T] on the roads and paths. And when they find some people celebrating
the Praises of ALLAH [S.W.T], they call each other, saying, "Come to the object
of your pursuit.'" He added, "Then the Angels (P.B.U.T) encircle them
with their wings up to the sky of the world." He added. "(after those
people celebrated the Praises of ALLAH [S.W.T], and the Angels (P.B.U.T) go back),
their LORD, asks them (those Angels (P.B.U.T)) - though HE knows better than them----'What
do MY slaves say?' The Angels (P.B.U.T) reply, 'they say: Subhan ALLAH, ALLAHU Akbar,
and Alham-du-lillah, ALLAH [S.W.T] then says 'Did they see ME?' The Angels (P.B.U.T)
reply, 'No! By ALLAH [S.W.T], they didn't see YOU.' ALLAH [S.W.T] says, How it would
have been if they saw ME?' The Angels (P.B.U.T) reply, 'If they saw YOU, they would
Worship YOU more devoutly and celebrate YOUR Glory more deeply, and declare YOUR
freedom from any resemblance to anything more often.' ALLAH [S.W.T] says (to the
Angels (P.B.U.T)), 'What do they ask ME for?' The Angels (P.B.U.T) reply, 'They
ask YOU for Paradise.' ALLAH [S.W.T] says (to the Angels (P.B.U.T)), 'Did they see
it?' The Angels (P.B.U.T) say, 'No! By ALLAH [S.W.T], O LORD! They did not see it.'
ALLAH [S.W.T] says, How it would have been if they saw it?' The Angels (P.B.U.T)
say, 'If they saw it, they would have greater covetousness for it and would seek
it with greater zeal and would have greater desire for it.' ALLAH [S.W.T] says,
'From what do they seek refuge?' The Angels (P.B.U.T) reply, 'They seek refuge from
the (Hell) Fire.' ALLAH [S.W.T] says, 'Did they see it?' The Angels (P.B.U.T) say,
'No! By ALLAH [S.W.T], O LORD! They did not see it.' ALLAH [S.W.T] says, How it
would have been if they saw it?' The Angels (P.B.U.T) say, 'If they saw it they
would flee from it with the extreme fleeing and would have extreme fear from it.'
Then ALLAH [S.W.T] says, 'I make you witnesses that I have Forgiven them."'
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] added, "One of the Angels (P.B.U.T) would
say, 'There was so-and-so amongst them, and he was not one of them, but he had just
come for some need.' ALLAH [S.W.T] would say, 'These are those people whose companions
will not be reduced to misery.'"
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 9, Book 93: Oneness, Uniqueness of ALLAH [S.W.T] (Tawheed), Number 502:
Narrated Abu Huraira
(R.A):
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "ALLAH [S.W.T]
says: 'I am just as MY slave thinks I am, (i.e. I am able to do for him what he
thinks I can do for him) and I am with him if he remembers ME. If he remembers ME
in himself, I too, remember him in MYSELF; and if he remembers ME in a group of
people, I remember him in a group that is better than they; and if he comes one
span nearer to ME, I go one cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer
to ME, I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and if he comes to
ME walking, I go to him running.'"
Sahih Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 2: Belief, Number 20:
Narrated Anas
(R.A):
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "Whoever
possesses the following three qualities will taste the sweetness of faith:
1. The one to
whom ALLAH [S.W.T] and HIS Apostle [S.A.W.S) become dearer than anything else.
2. Who loves a
person and he loves him Only for ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Sake.
3. Who hates to
revert to disbelief (atheism) after ALLAH [S.W.T] has brought (saved) him out
from it, as he hates to be thrown in Fire."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 1, Book 2: Belief, Number 47:
Narrated Abu Huraira
(R.A):
One day while the Prophet [S.A.W.S] was sitting
in the company of some people, (The Angel) Gabriel (P.B.U.H) came and asked, "What
is faith?" ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] replied, 'Faith is to believe
in ALLAH [S.W.T], HIS Angels (P.B.U.T), (the) meeting with HIM, HIS Apostles (P.B.U.T),
and to believe in Resurrection." Then he further asked, "What is Islam?"
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] replied, "To Worship ALLAH [S.W.T] Alone
and none else, to offer prayers perfectly to pay the compulsory charity (Zakat)
and to observe fasts during the month of Ramadan." Then he further asked, "What
is Ihsan (perfection)?" ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] replied, "To
Worship ALLAH [S.W.T] as if you see HIM, and if you cannot achieve this state of
devotion then you must consider that HE is looking at you." Then he further
asked, "When will the Hour be established?" ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S]
replied, "The answerer has no better knowledge than the questioner. But I will
inform you about its portents.
1. When a slave (lady)
gives birth to her master.
2. When the shepherds
of black camels start boasting and competing with others in the construction of
higher buildings. And the Hour is one of five things which nobody knows except ALLAH
[S.W.T]. The Prophet [S.A.W.S] then recited: "Verily, with ALLAH (Alone) is
the Knowledge of the Hour--." (31.34) Then that man (Gabriel (P.B.U.H)) left
and the Prophet [S.A.W.S] asked his companions (R.A) to call him back, but they
could not see him. Then the Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "That was Gabriel (P.B.U.H)
who came to teach the people their religion." Abu 'Abdullah (R.A) said: He
(the Prophet [S.A.W.S]) considered all that as a part of faith.
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 1, Book 3: Knowledge, Number 71:
Narrated Muawiya
(R.A):
I heard ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] saying,
"If ALLAH [S.W.T] wants to do good to a person, HE makes him comprehend the
religion. I am just a distributor, but the grant is from ALLAH [S.W.T]. (And remember)
that this nation (true Muslims) will keep on following ALLAH [S.W.T]’s teachings
strictly and they will not be harmed by any one going on a different path till ALLAH
[S.W.T]’s order (Day of Judgment) is established."

I said: "O ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Apostle [S.A.W.S]!
Who will be the luckiest person, who will gain your intercession on the Day of Resurrection?"
ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said: O Abu Huraira (R.A)! "I have thought
that none will ask me about it before you as I know your longing for the (learning
of) Hadiths. The luckiest person who will have my intercession on the Day of Resurrection
will be the one who said sincerely from the bottom of his heart "None has the
right to be Worshiped but ALLAH [S.W.T]." And 'Umar bin 'Abdul 'Aziz (R.A.)
wrote to Abu Bakr bin Hazm (R.A), "Look for the knowledge of Hadith and get
it written, as I am afraid that religious knowledge will vanish and the religious
learned men will pass away (die). Do not accept anything save the Hadiths of the
Prophet [S.A.W.S]. Circulate knowledge and teach the ignorant, for knowledge does
not vanish except when it is kept secretly (to oneself)."

color will be that of the blood but will smell like musk."

five things which were not given to any one else before me.
1. ALLAH [S.W.T]
made me victorious by awe, (by HIS frightening my enemies) for a distance of one
month's journey.
2. The earth has
been made for me (and for my followers) a place for praying and a thing to perform
Tayammum, therefore anyone of my followers can pray wherever the time of a prayer
is due.
3. The booty has
been made Halal (lawful) for me yet it was not lawful for anyone else before me.
4. I have been given
the right of intercession (on the Day of Resurrection).
5. Every Prophet
(P.B.U.T) used to be sent to his nation only but I have been sent to all mankind.

[S.A.W.S] about it, on which he said, "If any religious man dies amongst those

in it. They will be the worst creature in the Sight of ALLAH [S.W.T] on the Day
of Resurrection."

in the wilderness and you want to pronounce Adhan for the prayer raise your voice
in doing so, for whoever hears the Adhan, whether a human being, a jinn or any other
creature, will be a witness for you on the Day of Resurrection." Abu Said (R.A)
added, "I heard it (this narration) from ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S]."

mahmudan-il-ladhi wa' adtahu (O ALLAH! LORD of this perfect call (of not ascribing
partners to YOU) and of the regular prayer which is going to be established! Kindly
give Muhammad [S.A.W.S] the right of intercession and superiority and send him (on
the Day of Judgment) to the best and the highest place in Paradise which YOU promised
him)', then intercession for me will be permitted for him on the Day of Resurrection").
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 1, Book 11: Call to Prayers (Adhaan), Number 629:
Narrated Abu Huraira
(R.A):
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "ALLAH [S.W.T]
will give shade, to seven, on the Day when there will be no shade but HIS. (These
seven persons are) a just ruler, a youth who has been brought up in the Worship
of ALLAH [S.W.T] (i.e. Worships ALLAH [S.W.T] sincerely from childhood), a man whose
heart is attached to the Mosques (i.e. to pray the compulsory prayers in the Mosque
in congregation), two persons who love each other Only for ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Sake
and they meet and part in ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Cause Only, a man who refuses the call
of a charming woman of noble birth for illicit intercourse with her and says: I
am afraid of ALLAH [S.W.T], a man who gives charitable gifts so secretly that his
left hand does not know what his right hand has given (i.e. nobody knows how much
he has given in charity), and a person who remembers ALLAH [S.W.T] in seclusion
and his eyes are then flooded with tears."

of Resurrection. They were given the Holy Scripture before us and we were given
the Qur’an after them. And this was the day (Friday) about which they differed and
ALLAH [S.W.T] gave us the guidance (for that). So tomorrow (i.e. Saturday) is the
Jews' (day), and the day after tomorrow (i.e. Sunday) is the Christians'."
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] remained silent (for a while) and then said, "It is obligatory
for every Muslim that he should take a bath once in seven days, when he should wash
his head and body." Narrated Abu Huraira (R.A) through different narrators
that the Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "It is ALLAH [S.W.T]'s right on every Muslim
that he should take a bath (at least) once in seven days."

While a man was riding (his Mount) in 'Arafat,
he fell down from it (his Mount) and broke his neck (and died). The Prophet [S.A.W.S]
said, "Wash him with water and Sidr and shroud him in two pieces of cloth,
and neither perfume him, nor cover his head, for he will be resurrected on the Day
of Resurrection saying, 'Labbaik,' (i.e. like a pilgrim)."

more of the Qur’an?" When one of them was pointed out for him, he would put
that one first in the grave and say, "I will be a witness on these on the Day
of Resurrection." He ordered them to be buried with their blood on their bodies
and they were neither washed nor was a funeral prayer offered for them.
Sahih Bukhari:

bin 'Umar (R.A):

anyone of you dies, he is shown his place both in the morning and in the evening.
If he is one of the people of Paradise; he is shown
his place in it, and if he is from the people of the Hell-Fire; he is shown his
place there-in. Then it is said to him, 'This is your place till ALLAH [S.W.T] resurrect
you on the Day of Resurrection."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 2, Book 23: Funerals (Al-Janaa’iz), Number 468:
Narrated Samura bin
Jundab (R.A):
Whenever the Prophet [S.A.W.S] finished the (morning)
prayer, he would face us and ask, "Who amongst you had a dream last night?"
So if anyone had seen a dream he would narrate it. The Prophet [S.A.W.S] would say:
"Masha'ALLAH" (An Arabic maxim meaning literally, 'What ALLAH wished,'
and it indicates a good omen.) One day, he asked us whether anyone of us had seen
a dream. We replied in the negative. The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "But I had
seen (a dream) last night that two men came to me, caught hold of my hands, and
took me to the Sacred Land (Jerusalem). There, I saw a person sitting and another
standing with an iron hook in his hand pushing it inside the mouth of the former
till it reached the jaw-bone, and then tore off one side of his cheek, and then
did the same with the other side; in the mean-time the first side of his cheek became
normal again and then he repeated the same operation again. I said, 'What is this?'
They told me to proceed on and we went on till we came to a man Lying flat on his
back, and another man standing at his head carrying a stone or a piece of rock,
and crushing the head of the Lying man, with that stone. Whenever he struck him,
the stone rolled away. The man went to pick it up and by the time he returned to
him, the crushed head had returned to its normal state and the man came back and
struck him again (and so on). I said, 'Who is this?' They told me to proceed on;
so we proceeded on and passed by a hole like an oven; with a narrow top and wide
bottom, and the fire was kindling underneath that hole. Whenever the fire-flame
went up, the people were lifted up to such an extent that they about to get out
of it, and whenever the fire got quieter, the people went down into it, and there
were naked men and women in it. I said, 'Who is this?' They told me to proceed on.
So we proceeded on till we reached a river of blood and a man was in it, and another
man was standing at its bank with stones in front of him, facing the man standing
in the river. Whenever the man in the river wanted to come out, the other one threw
a stone in his mouth and caused him to retreat to his original position; and so
whenever he wanted to come out the other would throw a stone in his mouth, and he
would retreat to his original position. I asked, 'What is this?' They told me to
proceed on and we did so till we reached a well-flourished green garden having a
huge tree and near its root was sitting an old man with some children. (I saw) Another
man near the tree with fire in front of him and he was kindling it up. Then they
(i.e. my two companions (P.B.U.T)) made me climb up the tree and made me enter a
house, better than which I have ever seen. In it were some old men and young men,
women and children. Then they took me out of this house and made me climb up the
tree and made me enter another house that was better and superior (to the first)
containing old and young people. I said to them (i.e. my two companions (P.B.U.T)),
'You have made me ramble all the night. Tell me all about that I have seen.' They
said, 'Yes. As for the one whose cheek you saw being torn away, he was a liar and
he used to tell lies, and the people would report those lies on his authority till
they spread all over the world. So, he will be punished like that till the Day of
Resurrection. The one whose head you saw being crushed is the one whom ALLAH [S.W.T]
had given the knowledge of Qur’an (i.e. knowing it by heart) but he used to sleep
at night (i.e. he did not recite it then) and did not use to act upon it (i.e. upon
its orders etc.) by day; and so this punishment will go on till the Day of Resurrection.
And those you saw in the hole (like oven) were adulterers (those men and women who
commit illegal sexual intercourse). And those you saw in the river of blood were
those dealing in Riba (usury). And the old man who was sitting at the base of the
tree was Abraham (P.B.U.H) and the little children around him were the offspring
of the people. And the one who was kindling the fire was Malik (P.B.U.H), the gate-keeper
of the Hell-fire. And the first house in which you have one was the house of the
common believers, and the second house was of the Martyrs. I am Gabriel (P.B.U.H)
and this is Michael (P.B.U.H) . Raise your head.' I raised my head and saw a thing
like a cloud over me. They said, 'That is your place.' I said, 'Let me enter my
place.' They said, 'You still have some life which you have not yet completed, and
when you complete (that remaining portion of your life) you will then enter your
place.' "
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 2, Book 24: Obligatory Charity Tax (Zakat), Number 485:
Narrated Abu Huraira
(R.A):
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "(On the Day of
Resurrection) camels will come to their owner in the best state of health they have
ever had (in the world), and if he had not paid their Zakat (in the world) then
they would tread him with their feet; and similarly, sheep will come to their owner
in the best state of health they have ever had in the world, and if he had not paid
their Zakat, then they would tread him with their hooves and would butt him with
their horns." The Prophet [S.A.W.S] added, "One of their rights is that
they should be milked while water is kept in front of them." The Prophet [S.A.W.S]
added, "I do not want anyone of you to come to me on the Day of Resurrection,
carrying over his neck a sheep that will be bleating. Such a person will (then)
say, 'O Muhammad [S.A.W.S]! (please intercede for me,) I will say to him. 'I can't
help you, for I conveyed ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Message to you.' Similarly, I do not want
anyone of you to come to me carrying over his neck a camel that will be grunting.
Such a person (then) will say "O Muhammad [S.A.W.S]! (Please intercede for
me)." I will say to him, "I can't help you for I conveyed ALLAH [S.W.T]'s
message to you."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 2, Book 24: Obligatory Charity Tax (Zakat), Number 493:
Narrated Abu Huraira
(R.A):
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "The Hour (Day
of Judgment) will not be established till your wealth increases so much so that
one will be worried, for no one will accept his Zakat and the person to whom he
will give it will reply, 'I am not in need of it.'"
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 2, Book 24: Obligatory Charity Tax (Zakat), Number 486:
Narrated Abu Huraira
(R.A):
ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said, "Whoever
is made wealthy by ALLAH [S.W.T] and does not pay the Zakat of his wealth, then
on the Day of Resurrection his wealth will be made like a bald-headed poisonous
male snake with two black spots over the eyes. The snake will encircle his neck
and bite his cheeks and say, 'I am your wealth, I am your treasure.'" Then
the Prophet [S.A.W.S] recited the holy verses:- 'Let not those who withhold . .
.' (to the end of the verse). (3.180).
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 2, Book 24: Obligatory Charity Tax (Zakat), Number 494:
Narrated 'Adi bin
Hatim (R.A):
While I was sitting with ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle
[S.A.W.S] two person came to him; one of them complained about his poverty and the
other complained about the prevalence of robberies. ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S]
said, "As regards stealing and robberies, there will shortly come a time when
a caravan will go to Mecca (from Medina) without any guard. And regarding poverty,
The Hour (Day of Judgment) will not be established till one of you wanders about
with his object of charity and will not find anybody to accept it. And (no doubt)
each one of you will stand in front of ALLAH [S.W.T] and there will be neither a
curtain nor an interpreter between him and ALLAH [S.W.T], and ALLAH [S.W.T] will
ask him, 'Did not I give you wealth?' He will reply in the affirmative. ALLAH [S.W.T]
will further ask, 'Didn't I send a Messenger to you?' And again that person will
reply in the affirmative. Then he will look to his right and he will see nothing
but Hell-fire, and then he will look to his left and will see nothing but Hell-fire.
And so, any (each one) of you should save himself from the fire even by giving half
of a date-fruit (in charity). And if you do not find a half date-fruit, then (you
can do it through saying) a good pleasant word (to your brethren).

Narrated Abu Dharr
(R.A):
Once I went to him (the Prophet [S.A.W.S]) and
he said, "By ALLAH [S.W.T] in WHOSE Hands my life is (or probably said, 'By
ALLAH [S.W.T], except WHOM none has the right to be Worshiped) whoever had camels
or cows or sheep and did not pay their Zakat, those animals will be brought on the
Day of Resurrection far bigger and fatter than before and they will tread him under
their hooves, and will butt him with their horns, and (those animals will come in
circle): When the last does its turn, the first will start again, and this punishment
will go on till ALLAH [S.W.T] has finished the Judgments amongst the people."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 2, Book 24: Obligatory Charity Tax (Zakat), Number 544:
Narrated Abu Said
Al-Khudri (R.A):
Once the Prophet [S.A.W.S] sat on a pulpit and
we sat around him. Then he said, "The things I am afraid of most for your sake
(concerning what will befall you after me) is the pleasures and splendors of the
world and its beauties which will be disclosed to you." Somebody said, "O
ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Apostle [S.A.W.S]! Can the good bring forth evil?" The Prophet
[S.A.W.S] remained silent for a while. It was said to that person, "What is
wrong with you? You are talking to the Prophet [S.A.W.S] while he is not talking
to you." Then we noticed that he was being inspired divinely. Then the Prophet
[S.A.W.S] wiped off his sweat and said, "Where is the questioner?" It
seemed as if the Prophet [S.A.W.S] liked his question. Then he said, "Good
never brings forth evil. Indeed, it is like what grows on the banks of a water-stream
which either kill or make the animals sick, except if an animal eats its fill the
Khadira (a kind of vegetable) and then faces the sun, and then defecates and urinates
and grazes again. No doubt this wealth is sweet and green. Blessed is the wealth
of a Muslim from which he gives to the poor, the orphans and to needy travelers.
(Or the Prophet [S.A.W.S] said something similar to it) No doubt, whoever takes
it illegally will be like the one who eats but is never satisfied, and his wealth
will be a witness against him on the Day of Resurrection."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 2, Book 24: Obligatory Charity Tax (Zakat), Number 553:
Narrated 'Abdullah
bin 'Umar (R.A):
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "A man keeps on
asking others for something till he comes on the Day of Resurrection without any
piece of flesh on his face." The Prophet [S.A.W.S] added, "On the Day
of Resurrection, the Sun will come near (to, the people) to such an extent that
the sweat will reach up to the middle of the ears, so, when all the people are in
that state, they will ask Adam (P.B.U.H) for help, and then Moses (P.B.U.H), and
then Muhammad [S.A.W.S]." The sub-narrator added "Muhammad [S.A.W.S] will
intercede with ALLAH [S.W.T] to judge amongst the people. He will proceed on till
he will hold the ring of the door (of Paradise)
and then ALLAH [S.W.T] will exalt him to Maqam Mahmud (the privilege of intercession,
etc.). And all the people of the gathering will send their Praises to ALLAH [S.W.T].

on the Day of Resurrection and none except them will enter through it. It will be
said, 'Where are those who used to observe fasts?' They will get up, and none except
them will enter through it. After their entry the gate will be closed and nobody
will enter through it."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 3, Book 34: Sales and Trade, Number 318:
Narrated Aisha (Mother
of the faithful believers) (R.A):
I bought a cushion with pictures on it. When ALLAH
[S.W.T]'s Apostle [S.A.W.S] saw it, he kept standing at the door and did not enter
the house. I noticed the sign of disgust on his face, so I said, "O ALLAH [S.W.T]'s
Apostle [S.A.W.S]! I repent to ALLAH [S.W.T] and HIS Apostle [S.A.W.S]. (Please
let me know) what sin I have done." ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said,
"What about this cushion?" I replied, "I bought it for you to sit
and recline on." ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said, "The painters
(i.e. owners) of these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection. It
will be said to them, 'Put life in what you have created (i.e. painted).' "The
Prophet [S.A.W.S] added, "The Angels (P.B.U.T) do not enter a house where there
are pictures."

ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said, "An
army will invade the Ka'ba and when the invaders reach Al-Baida', all the ground
will sink and swallow the whole army." I said, "O ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle
[S.A.W.S]! How will they sink into the ground while amongst them will be their markets
(the people who worked in business and not invaders) and the people not belonging
to them?" The Prophet [S.A.W.S] replied, "All of those people will sink
but they will be resurrected and judged according to their intentions."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 3, Book 34: Sales and Trade, Number 430:
Narrated Abu Huraira
(R.A):
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "ALLAH [S.W.T]
says, 'I will be against three persons on the Day of Resurrection:
1. One who makes
a covenant in MY Name, but he proves treacherous.
2. One who sells
a free person (as a slave) and eats the price,
3. And one who employs
a laborer and gets the full work done by him but does not pay him his wages.' "
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 3, Book 40: Distribution of Water, Number 547:
Narrated Abu Huraira
(R.A):
ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said, "There
are three persons whom ALLAH [S.W.T] will not look at on the Day of Resurrection,
nor will he purify them and theirs shall be a severe punishment. They are:
1. A man possessed
superfluous water, on a way and he withheld it from travelers.
2. A man who gave
a pledge of allegiance to a ruler and he gave it only for worldly benefits. If the
ruler gives him something he gets satisfied, and if the ruler withholds something
from him, he gets dissatisfied.
3. And man displayed
his goods for sale after the 'Asr prayer and he said, 'By ALLAH [S.W.T], except
WHOM None has the right to be Worshiped, I have been given so much for my goods,'
and somebody believes him (and buys them)." The Prophet [S.A.W.S] then recited:
"Verily! Those who purchase a little gain at the cost of ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Covenant
and their oaths." (3.77)
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 3, Book 40: Distribution of Water, Number 564:
Narrated Anas (R.A):
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] decided to grant a portion
of (the uncultivated land of) Bahrain to the Ansar. The Ansar said, "(We will
not accept it) till you give a similar portion to our emigrant brothers (from Quraish)."
He said, "(O Ansar!) You will soon see people giving preference to others,
so remain patient till you meet me (on the Day of Resurrection).

Narrated Abu Said
Al-Khudri (R.A):
While ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Apostle [S.A.W.S] was sitting,
a Jew came and said, "O Abul Qasim [S.A.W.S]! One of your companions has slapped
me on my face." The Prophet [S.A.W.S] asked who that was. He replied that he
was one of the Ansar. The Prophet [S.A.W.S] sent for him, and on his arrival, he
asked him whether he had beaten the Jew. He (replied in the affirmative and) said,
"I heard him taking an oath in the market saying, 'By HIM WHO gave Moses (P.B.U.H)
superiority over all the human beings.' I said, 'O wicked man! (Has ALLAH [S.W.T]
given Moses (P.B.U.H) superiority) even over Muhammad [S.A.W.S] I became furious
and slapped him over his face." The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "Do not give
a Prophet (P.B.U.T) superiority over another, for on the Day of Resurrection all
the people will fall unconscious and I will be the first to emerge from the earth,
and will see Moses (P.B.U.H) standing and holding one of the legs of the Throne.
I will not know whether Moses (P.B.U.H) has fallen unconscious or the first unconsciousness
was sufficient for him."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 3, Book 43: Oppressions, Number 622:
Narrated 'Abdullah
bin Umar (R.A):
ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said, "A
Muslim is a brother of another Muslim, so he should not oppress him, nor should
he hand him over to an oppressor. Whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, ALLAH
[S.W.T] will fulfill his needs; whoever brought his (Muslim) brother out of a discomfort,
ALLAH [S.W.T] will bring him out of the discomforts of the Day of Resurrection,
and whoever screened a Muslim, ALLAH [S.W.T] will screen him on the Day of Resurrection."
Sahih Bukhari:

beg him to forgive him before the Day of Resurrection when there will be no money

be taken from him according to his oppression which he has done, and if he has no
good deeds, the sins of the oppressed person will be loaded on him."

Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 3, Book 43: Oppressions, Number 638:
Narrated Um Salama
(R.A), (The wife of the Prophet [S.A.W.S]):
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] heard some people
quarreling at the door of his dwelling. He came out and said, "I am only a
human being, and opponents come to me (to settle their problems); maybe someone
amongst you can present his case more eloquently than the other, whereby I may consider
him true and give a verdict in his favor. So, if I give the right of a Muslim to
another by mistake, then it is really a portion of (Hell) Fire, he has the option
to take or give up (before the Day of Resurrection)."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 4, Book 51: Wills and Testaments (Wasaayaa), Number 28:
Narrated Abu Huraira

The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "Avoid the seven
great destructive sins." The people enquire, "O ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle
[S.A.W.S]! What are they? "He said, "To join others in Worship along with
ALLAH [S.W.T], to practice sorcery, to kill the life which ALLAH [S.W.T] has forbidden
except for a just cause, (according to Islamic law), to eat up Riba (usury), to
eat up an orphan's wealth, to give back to the enemy and fleeing from the battlefield
at the time of fighting, and to accuse chaste women, who never even think of anything
touching chastity and are good believers.
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 4, Book 52: Fighting for the Cause of ALLAH [S.W.T] (Jihaad), Number 54:
Narrated Abu Huraira
(R.A):
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "By HIM in WHOSE
Hands my life is! Were it not for some men amongst the believers who dislike to
be left behind me and whom I cannot provide with means of conveyance, I would certainly
never remain behind any Sariya' (army-unit) setting out in ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Cause.
By HIM in WHOSE Hands my life is! I would love to be Martyred in ALLAH [S.W.T]'s
Cause and then get resurrected and then get Martyred, and then get resurrected again
and then get Martyred and then get resurrected again and then get Martyred.
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 4, Book 52: Fighting for the Cause of ALLAH [S.W.T] (Jihaad), Number 59:
Narrated Abu Huraira
(R.A):
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said, "By
HIM in WHOSE Hands my soul is! Whoever is wounded in ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Cause....and
ALLAH [S.W.T] knows well who gets wounded in HIS Cause....will come on the Day of
Resurrection with his wound having the color of blood but the scent of musk."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 4, Book 52: Fighting for the Cause of ALLAH [S.W.T] (Jihaad), Number 95:
Narrated Abu Said
Al-Khudri (R.A):
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] ascended the
pulpit and said, "Nothing worries me as to what will happen to you after me,
except the temptation of worldly blessings which will be conferred on you."
Then he mentioned the worldly pleasures. He started with the one (i.e. the blessings)
and took up the other (i.e. the pleasures). A man got up saying, "O ALLAH [S.W.T]’s
Apostle [S.A.W.S]! Can the good bring about evil?" The Prophet [S.A.W.S] remained
silent and we thought that he was being inspired divinely, so all the people kept
silent with awe. Then the Prophet [S.A.W.S] wiped the sweat off his face and asked,
"Where is the present questioner?" "Do you think wealth is good?"
he repeated thrice, adding, "No doubt, good produces nothing but good. Indeed
it is like what grows on the banks of a stream which either kills or nearly kills
the grazing animals because of gluttony except the vegetation-eating animal which
eats till both its flanks are full (i.e. till it gets satisfied) and then stands
in the sun and defecates and urinates and again starts grazing. This worldly property
is sweet vegetation. How excellent the wealth of the Muslim is, if it is collected
through legal means and is spent in ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Cause and on orphans, poor people
and travelers. But he who does not take it legally is like an eater who is never
satisfied and his wealth will be a witness against him on the Day of Resurrection."

the horse has eaten or drunk and for its dung and urine."

Narrated Abu Huraira

The Prophet [S.A.W.S] got up amongst us and mentioned
Al Ghulul, emphasized its magnitude and declared that it was a great sin saying,
"Don't commit Ghulul for I should not like to see anyone amongst you on the
Day of Resurrection, carrying over his neck a sheep that will be bleating, or carrying
over his neck a horse that will be neighing. Such a man will be saying: 'O ALLAH
[S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S]! Intercede with ALLAH [S.W.T] for me,' and I will reply,
'I can't help you, for I have conveyed ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Message to you nor should

a man will say, 'O ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S]! Intercede with ALLAH [S.W.T]
for me, and I will say, 'I can't help you for I have conveyed ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Message

of the conquest of Mecca, "There is no migration now, but there is Jihad (i.e.
holy battle) and good intentions. And when you are called for Jihad, you should
come out at once." ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] also said, on the day
of the conquest of Mecca, "ALLAH [S.W.T] has made this town a sanctuary since
the day HE Created the Heavens and the Earth. So, it is a sanctuary by ALLAH [S.W.T]’s
Decree till the Day of Resurrection. Fighting in it was not legal for anyone before
me, and it was made legal for me only for an hour by daytime. So, it (i.e. Mecca) is a sanctuary by ALLAH
[S.W.T]’s Decree till the Day of Resurrection. Its thorny bushes should not be cut,
and its game should not be chased, its fallen property (i.e. Luqata) should not
be picked up except by one who will announce it publicly; and its grass should not
be uprooted," On that Al-'Abbas (R.A) said, "O ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle

O my LORD!' Then ALLAH [S.W.T] will ask Noah (P.B.U.H)'s nation, 'Did Noah convey
MY Message to you?' They will reply, 'No, no Prophet came to us.' Then ALLAH [S.W.T]
will ask Noah (P.B.U.H), 'Who will stand a witness for you?' He will reply, 'Muhammad
[S.A.W.S] and his followers (will stand witness for me).' So, I and my followers

many are the people of the Fire?' ALLAH [S.W.T] will reply: 'From every one thousand,
take out nine-hundred-and ninety-nine.' At that time children will become hoary
headed, every pregnant female will have a miscarriage, and one will see mankind
as drunken, yet they will not be drunken, but dreadful will be the Wrath of ALLAH
[S.W.T]." The Companions (R.A) of the Prophet [S.A.W.S] asked, "O ALLAH
[S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S]! Who is that (excepted) one?" He said, "Rejoice

and magog." The Prophet [S.A.W.S] further said, "By HIM in WHOSE Hands
my life is, hope that you will be one-fourth of the people of Paradise." We
shouted, "ALLAHU Akbar!" He added, "I hope that you will be one-third
of the people of Paradise." We shouted, "ALLAHU Akbar!" He said,
"I hope that you will be half of the people of Paradise." We shouted,
"ALLAHU Akbar!" He further said, "You (Muslims) (compared with non

will be taken towards the left side (i.e. to the (Hell) Fire), and I will say: 'My
companions! My companions!' It will be said: 'They renegade from Islam after you
left them.' Then I will say as the Pious slave of ALLAH [S.W.T] (i.e. Jesus (P.B.U.H))
said: 'And I was a witness Over them while I dwelt amongst them. When YOU took me
up YOU were the Watcher over them, And YOU are a witness to all things. If YOU punish

so what right does so-and-so have to slap me?" The Prophet [S.A.W.S] asked
the other, "Why have you slapped". He told him the whole story. The Prophet
[S.A.W.S] became angry, till anger appeared on his face, and said, "Don't give
superiority to any Prophet (P.B.U.H) amongst ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Prophets (P.B.U.T),
for when the trumpet will be blown, everyone on the earth and in the heavens will
become unconscious except those whom ALLAH [S.W.T] will exempt. The trumpet will
be blown for the second time and I will be the first to be resurrected to see Moses
(P.B.U.H) holding ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Throne. I will not know whether the unconsciousness
which Moses (P.B.U.H) received on the Day of Tur has been sufficient for him, or
has he got up before me. And I do not say that there is anybody who is better than
Yunus bin Matta (P.B.U.H)."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 4, Book 55: Prophets (P.B.U.T), Number 656:
Narrated Ibn Abbas
(R.A):
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said, "You
will be resurrected (and assembled) bare-footed, naked and uncircumcised."
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] then recited the Divine Verse:-- "As WE began the first
creation, WE shall repeat it: A promise WE have undertaken. Truly WE shall do it."
(21.104) He added, "The first to be dressed will be Abraham (P.B.U.H). Then
some of my companions will take to the right and to the left. I will say: 'My companions!
'It will be said, 'They had been renegades since you left them.' I will then say
what the Pious Slave Jesus, the son of Mary (P.B.U.T) said: 'And I was a witness
over them while I dwelt amongst them; when YOU did take me up, YOU were the Watcher
over them, and YOU are a Witness to all things. If YOU punish them, they are YOUR
slaves, and if YOU forgive them, YOU, Only YOU are the ALL-MIGHTY the ALL-WISE.'"
(5.117-118) Narrated Quaggas (R.A), "Those were the apostates who renegade
from Islam during the Caliphate of Abu Bakr (R.A) who fought them".

Volume 4, Book 55: Prophets (P.B.U.T), Number 657:
Narrated Abu Huraira
(R.A):
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said, By HIM
in WHOSE Hands my soul is, surely (Jesus) the son of Mary (P.B.U.T) will soon descend
amongst you and will judge mankind justly (as a Just Ruler); he will break the cross
and kill the pigs and there will be no Jizya (i.e. taxation taken from non Muslims).
Money will be in abundance so that nobody will accept it, and a single prostration
to ALLAH [S.W.T] (in prayer) will be better than the whole world and whatever is
in it." Abu Huraira (R.A) added "If you wish, you can recite (this verse
of the Holy Book): -- 'And there is none of the people of the Scriptures (Jews and
Christians) But must believe in him (i.e. Jesus (P.B.U.H) as an Apostle of ALLAH
[S.W.T] and a human being) Before his death. And on the Day of Judgment he will
be a witness against them." (4.159)

through whom ALLAH [S.W.T] will eliminate infidelity; I am Al-Hashir [S.A.W.S] who

I relate the traditions of ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle
[S.A.W.S] to you for I would rather fall from the sky than attribute something to
him falsely. But when I tell you a thing which is between you and me, then no doubt,
war is guile. I heard ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] saying, "In the last
days of this world there will appear some young foolish people who will use (in
their claim) the best speech of all people (i.e. the Qur'an) and they will abandon
Islam as an arrow going through the game. Their belief will not go beyond their
throats (i.e. they will have practically no belief), so wherever you meet them,
kill them, for he who kills them shall get a reward on the Day of Resurrection."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 5, Book 57: Companions (R.A) of the Prophet [S.A.W.S], Number 37:
Narrated Anas (R.A):
A man asked the Prophet [S.A.W.S] about the Hour
(i.e. Day of Judgment) saying, "When will the Hour be?" The Prophet [S.A.W.S]
said, "What have you prepared for it?" The man said, "Nothing, except
that I love ALLAH [S.W.T] and HIS Apostle [S.A.W.S]." The Prophet [S.A.W.S]
said, "You will be with those whom you love." We had never been so glad
as we were on hearing that saying of the Prophet [S.A.W.S] (i.e., "You will
be with those whom you love.") Therefore, I love the Prophet [S.A.W.S], Abu
Bakr and 'Umar (R.A), and I hope that I will be with them because of my love for
them though my deeds are not similar to theirs.

Narrated 'Aisha (R.A):
Um Habiba and Um Salama (R.A) mentioned a church

and in the church there were pictures. When they told the Prophet [S.A.W.S] of this,
he said, "Those people are such that if a pious man amongst them died, they
build a place of Worship over his grave and paint these pictures in it. Those people
will be ALLAH [S.W.T]’s worst creatures on the Day of Resurrection."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 5, Book 59: Military Expeditions led by the Prophet [S.A.W.S] (Al-Maghaazi),
Number 374:
Narrated Uqba bin
Amir (R.A):
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] offered the funeral
prayers of the Martyrs of Uhud eight years after (their death), as if bidding farewell
to the living and the dead, then he ascended the pulpit and said, "I am your
predecessor before you, and I am a witness on you, and your promised place to meet
me will be Al-Haud (i.e. the Tank) (on the Day of Resurrection), and I am (now)
looking at it from this place of mine. I am not afraid that you will Worship others
besides ALLAH [S.W.T], but I am afraid that worldly life will tempt you and cause
you to compete with each other for it." That was the last look which I cast
on ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S].
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 5, Book 59: Military Expeditions led by the Prophet [S.A.W.S] (Al-Maghaazi),
Number 406:
Narrated Jabir bin
'Abdullah (R.A):
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] used to shroud
two Martyrs of Uhud in one sheet and then say, "Which of them knew Qur’an more?"
When one of the two was pointed out, he would put him first in the grave. Then he
said, "I will be a witness for them on the Day of Resurrection." He ordered
them to be buried with their blood (on their bodies). Neither was the funeral prayer
offered for them, nor were they washed. Jabir (R.A) added, "When my father
was Martyred, I started weeping and uncovering his face. The Companions (R.A) of
the Prophet [S.A.W.S] stopped me from doing so but the Prophet [S.A.W.S] did not
stop me. Then the Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, '(O Jabir) don't weep over him, for the
Angels (P.B.U.T) kept on covering him with their wings till his body was carried
away (for burial)."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 5, Book 59: Military Expeditions led by the Prophet [S.A.W.S] (Al-Maghaazi),
Number 629:
Narrated 'Ali (R.A):
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] sent a Sariya under the command
of a man from the Ansar and ordered the soldiers to obey him. He (i.e. the commander)
became angry and said "Didn't the Prophet [S.A.W.S] order you to obey me!"
They replied, "Yes." He said, "Collect fire-wood for me." So
they collected it. He said, "Make a fire." When they made it, he said,
"Enter it (i.e. the fire)." So they intended to do that and started holding
each other and saying, "We run towards (i.e. take refuge with) the Prophet
[S.A.W.S] from the fire." They kept on saying that till the fire was extinguished
and the anger of the commander abated. When that news reached the Prophet [S.A.W.S]
he said, "If they had entered it (i.e. the fire), they would not have come
out of it till the Day of Resurrection. Obedience (to somebody) is required when
he enjoins what is good."

said, 'The son of Adam (P.B.U.H) tells a lie against me though he has no right to

against ME, it is that he claims that I cannot recreate him as I created him before;
and as for his abusing ME, it is his statement that I have offspring. No! Glorified
be ME! I am far from taking a wife or offspring.'"

Volume 6, Book 60: Prophetic Commentary on the Qur’an (Tafseer of the Prophet
[S.A.W.S]), Number 105:
Narrated Abu Said
Al-Khudri (R.A):
During the lifetime of the Prophet [S.A.W.S] some
people said: O ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S]! Shall we see our LORD on the Day
of Resurrection?" The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "Yes; do you have any difficulty
in seeing the sun at midday when it is bright and there is no cloud in the sky?"
They replied, "No." He said, "Do you have any difficulty in seeing
the moon on a full moon night when it is bright and there is no cloud in the sky?"
They replied, "No." The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "(Similarly) you
will have no difficulty in seeing ALLAH [S.W.T] on the Day of Resurrection as you
have no difficulty in seeing either of them. On the Day of Resurrection, a call-maker
will announce, "Let every nation follow that which they used to Worship."
Then none of those who used to Worship anything other than ALLAH [S.W.T] like idols
and other deities but will fall in Hell (Fire), till there will remain none but
those who used to Worship ALLAH [S.W.T], both those who were obedient (i.e. good)
and those who were disobedient (i.e. bad) and the remaining party of the people
of the Scripture. Then the Jews will be called upon and it will be said to them,
'Who do you use to Worship?' They will say, 'We used to Worship Ezra, the son of
ALLAH [S.W.T].' It will be said to them, 'You are liars, for ALLAH [S.W.T] has never
taken anyone as a wife or a son. What do you want now?' They will say, 'O our LORD!
We are thirsty, so give us something to drink.' They will be directed and addressed
thus, 'Will you drink,' whereupon they will be gathered unto Hell (Fire) which will
look like a mirage whose different sides will be destroying each other. Then they
will fall into the Fire. Afterwards the Christians will be called upon and it will
be said to them, 'Who do you use to Worship?' They will say, 'We used to Worship
Jesus (P.B.U.H), the son of ALLAH [S.W.T].' It will be said to them, 'You are liars,
for ALLAH [S.W.T] has never taken anyone as a wife or a son,' Then it will be said
to them, 'What do you want?' They will say what the former people have said. Then,
when there remain (in the gathering) none but those who used to Worship ALLAH [S.W.T]
(Alone, the real LORD of the worlds) whether they were obedient or disobedient.
Then (ALLAH [S.W.T]) the LORD of the worlds will come to them in a shape nearest
to the picture they had in their minds about HIM. It will be said, 'What are you
waiting for?' Every nation has followed what they used to Worship.' They will reply,
'We left the people in the world when we were in great need of them and we did not
take them as friends. Now we are waiting for our LORD WHOM we used to Worship.'
ALLAH [S.W.T] will say, 'I am your LORD.' They will say twice or thrice, 'We do
not Worship any besides ALLAH [S.W.T].'"

ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said, "On

white ram. Then a call maker will call, 'O people of Paradise!' Thereupon they will
stretch their necks and look carefully. The caller will say, 'Do you know this?'
They will say, 'Yes, this is Death.' By then all of them will have seen it. Then
it will be announced again, 'O people of Hell!' They will stretch their necks and
look carefully. The caller will say, 'Do you know this?' They will say, 'Yes, this
is Death.' And by then all of them will have seen it. Then it (that ram) will be
slaughtered and the caller will say, 'O people of Paradise!
Eternity for you and no death O people of Hell! Eternity for you and no death."'
Then the Prophet [S.A.W.S], recited:-- 'And warn them of the Day of distress when

me die and then resurrect me and I would have wealth and children." So ALLAH
[S.W.T] revealed:-- 'Have you seen him who disbelieved in OUR Signs, and (yet) says

'Labbaik our LORD, and Sa'daik ' Then there will be a loud call (saying), ALLAH
[S.W.T] orders you to take from among your offspring a mission for the (Hell) Fire.'
Adam (P.B.U.H) will say, 'O LORD! Who are the mission for the (Hell) Fire?' ALLAH
[S.W.T] will say, 'Out of each thousand, take out 999.' At that time every pregnant
female shall drop her load (have a miscarriage) and a child will have grey hair.
And you shall see mankind as in a drunken state, yet not drunk, but severe will
be the torment of ALLAH [S.W.T]." (22.2) (When the Prophet [S.A.W.S.] mentioned
this), the people were so distressed (and afraid) that their faces got changed (in
color) whereupon the Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "From gog and magog nine-hundred
ninety-nine will be taken out and one from you. You Muslims (compared to the large
number of other people) will be like a black hair on the side of a white ox, or
a white hair on the side of a black ox, and I hope that you will be one-fourth of
the people of Paradise." On that, we said, "ALLAHU-Akbar!" Then he
said, "I hope that you will be) one-third of the people of Paradise."
We again said, "ALLAHU-Akbar!" Then he said, "(I hope that you will
be) one-half of the people of Paradise." So we said, ALLAHU Akbar."

you set up a rival (in Worship) to ALLAH [S.W.T] though HE Alone created you."
I asked, "What is next?" He said, "Then, that you kill your son,
being afraid that he may share your meals with you." I asked, "What is
next?" He said, "That you commit illegal sexual intercourse with the wife
of your neighbor." Then the following Verse was revealed to confirm the statement
of ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S]: "Those who invoke not with ALLAH, any

Volume 6, Book 60: Prophetic Commentary on the Qur’an (Tafseer of the Prophet

While a man was delivering a speech in the tribe
of Kinda, he said, "Smoke will prevail on the Day of Resurrection and will
deprive the hypocrites their faculties of hearing and seeing. The believers will
be afflicted with something like cold only thereof." That news scared us, so
I went to (Abdullah) Ibn Mas'ud (R.A) while he was reclining (and told him the story)
whereupon he became angry, sat up and said, "He who knows a thing can say,
it, but if he does not know, he should say, 'ALLAH [S.W.T] knows best,' for it is
an aspect of knowledge to say, 'I do not know,' if you do not know a certain thing.
ALLAH [S.W.T] said to HIS Prophet [S.A.W.S]. 'Say (O Muhammad): No wage do I ask
of you for this (Qur'an), nor I am one of the pretenders (a person who pretends
things which do not exist.)' (38.86) The Qur'aish delayed in embracing Islam for
a period, so the Prophet [S.A.W.S] invoked evil on them, saying, 'O ALLAH [S.W.T]!
Help me against them by sending seven years of (famine) like those of Joseph (P.B.U.H).'
So they were afflicted with such a severe year of famine that they were destroyed
therein and ate dead animals and bones. They started seeing something like smoke
between the sky and the earth (because of severe hunger). Abu Sufyan then came (to
the Prophet [S.A.W.S]) and said, "O Muhammad [S.A.W.S]! You came to order us
for to keep good relations with Kith and kin, and your kinsmen have now perished,
so please invoke ALLAH [S.W.T] (to relieve them).' Then Ibn Mas'ud (R.A) recited:--
'Then watch you for the day that the sky will bring forth a kind of smoke plainly
visible....but truly you will return! (to disbelief) (44.10-15) Ibn Mas'ud (R.A)
added, Then the punishment was stopped, but truly, they reverted to heathenism (their
old way). So ALLAH [S.W.T] (threatened them thus): 'On the day when we shall seize
you with a mighty grasp.' (44.16) And that was the day of the Battle of Badr. ALLAH
[S.W.T]’s saying- "Lizama" (the punishment) refers to the day of Badr
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Statement: 'Alif-Lam-Mim, the Romans have been defeated, and they,
after their defeat, will be victorious,' (30.1-3) (This verse): Indicates that the
defeat of Byzantine has already passed.

One day while ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S]
was sitting with the people, a man came to him walking and said, "O ALLAH [S.W.T]’s
Apostle [S.A.W.S]. What is Belief?" The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "Belief
is to believe in ALLAH [S.W.T], HIS Angels, HIS Books, HIS Apostles, and the meeting
with HIM, and to believe in the Resurrection." The man asked, "O ALLAH
[S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] What is Islam?" The Prophet [S.A.W.S] replied,
"Islam is to Worship ALLAH [S.W.T] and not Worship anything besides HIM, to
offer prayers perfectly, to pay the (compulsory) charity i.e. Zakat and to fast
the month of Ramadan." The man again asked, "O ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle
[S.A.W.S] What is Ihsan (i.e. perfection or Benevolence)?" The Prophet [S.A.W.S]
said, "Ihsan is to Worship ALLAH [S.W.T] as if you see HIM, and if you do not
achieve this state of devotion, then (take it for granted that) ALLAH [S.W.T] sees
you." The man further asked, "O ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] when
will the Hour be established?" The Prophet [S.A.W.S] replied, "The one
who is asked about it does not know more than the questioner does, but I will describe
to you its portents- When the lady slave gives birth to her mistress, that will
be of its portents; when the bare-footed naked people become the chiefs of the people,
that will be of its portents. The Hour is one of five things which nobody knows
except ALLAH [S.W.T]. Verily, the knowledge of the Hour is with ALLAH [S.W.T] (Alone).
HE sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs." (31.34) Then
the man left. The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "Call him back to me." They
went to call him back but could not see him. The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "That
was Gabriel (P.B.U.H) who came to teach the people their religion."

and HIS Apostle [S.A.W.S]." The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "Don't you think
that he says: None has the right to be Worshiped but ALLAH [S.W.T], Only for ALLAH
[S.W.T]’s Sake?" They replied, "Yes" The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said,
"Nobody will meet ALLAH [S.W.T] with that saying on the Day of Resurrection,
but ALLAH [S.W.T] will save him from the Fire."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 9, Book 87: Interpretation of Dreams, Number 144:
Narrated Abu Huraira
(R.A):
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said, "When
the Day of Resurrection approaches, the dreams of a believer will hardly fail to
come true, and a dream of a believer is one of forty-six parts of Prophetism, and
whatever belongs to Prophetism can never be false." Muhammad bin Sirin (R.A)
said, "But I say this." He said, "It used to be said, 'There are
three types of dreams: The reflection of one's thoughts and experiences one has
during wakefulness, what is suggested by satan to frighten the dreamer, or glad
tidings from ALLAH [S.W.T]. So, if someone has a dream which he dislikes, he should
not tell it to others, but get up and offer a prayer." He added, "He (Abu
Huraira (R.A)) hated to see a Ghul (i.e., iron collar around his neck in a dream)
and people liked to see fetters (on their feet in a dream). The fetters on the feet
symbolizes one's constant and firm adherence to religion." And Abu 'Abdullah
(R.A) said, "Ghuls (iron collars) are used only for necks."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 9, Book 87: Interpretation of Dreams, Number 165:
Narrated Ibn Abbas
(R.A):
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "Whoever claims
to have seen a dream which he did not see, will be ordered to make a knot between
two barley grains which he will not be able to do; and if somebody listens to the
talk of some people who do not like him (to listen) or they run away from him, then
molten lead will be poured into his ears on the Day of Resurrection; and whoever
makes a picture, will be punished on the Day of Resurrection and will be ordered
to put a soul in that picture, which he will not be able to do."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 9, Book 88: Afflictions and the End of the World, Number 224:
Narrated Ibn 'Umar
(R.A):
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] said, "If
ALLAH [S.W.T] sends punishment upon a nation then it befalls upon the whole population
indiscriminately and then they will be resurrected (and judged) according to their
deeds."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 9, Book 93: Oneness, Uniqueness of ALLAH [S.W.T] (Tawheed), Number 507:
Narrated Anas (R.A):
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "ALLAH [S.W.T]
will gather the believers on the Day of Resurrection in the same way (as they are
gathered in this life), and they will say, 'Let us ask someone to intercede for
us with our LORD that HE may relieve us from this place of ours.' Then they will
go to Adam (P.B.U.H) and say, 'O Adam (P.B.U.H)! Don't you see the people (people's
condition)? ALLAH [S.W.T] created you with HIS OWN Hands and ordered HIS Angels
(P.B.U.T) to prostrate before you, and taught you the names of all the things. Please
intercede for us with our LORD so that HE may relieve us from this place of ours.'
Adam (P.B.U.H) will say, 'I am not fit for this undertaking' and mention to them
the mistakes he had committed, and add, "But you’d better go to Noah (P.B.U.H)
as he was the first Apostle sent by ALLAH [S.W.T] to the people of the Earth.' They
will go to Noah (P.B.U.H) who will reply, 'I am not fit for this undertaking,' and
mention the mistake which he made, and add, 'but you'd better go to Abraham (P.B.U.H),
Khalil Ar-Rahman.' They will go to Abraham (P.B.U.H) who will reply, 'I am not fit
for this undertaking,' and mention to them the mistakes he made, and add, 'But you'd
better go to Moses (P.B.U.H), a slave whom ALLAH [S.W.T] gave the Torah and to whom
HE spoke directly' They will go to Moses (P.B.U.H) who will reply, 'I am not fit
for this undertaking,' and mention to them the mistakes he made, and add, 'You'd
better go to Jesus (P.B.U.H), ALLAH [S.W.T]’s slave and HIS Apostle and HIS Word
(Be: And it was) and a soul created by HIM.' They will go to Jesus (P.B.U.H) who
will say, 'I am not fit for this undertaking, but you'd better go to Muhammad [S.A.W.S]
whose sins of the past and the future had been forgiven (by ALLAH [S.W.T]).' So
they will come to me and I will ask the permission of my LORD, and I will be permitted
(to present myself) before HIM. When I see my LORD, I will fall down in (prostration)
before HIM and HE will leave me (in prostration) as long as HE wishes, and then
it will be said to me, 'O Muhammad [S.A.W.S]! Raise your head and speak, for you
will be listened to; and ask, for you will be granted (your request); and intercede,
for your intercession will be accepted.' I will then raise my head and Praise my
LORD with certain Praises which HE has taught me, and then I will intercede. ALLAH
[S.W.T] will allow me to intercede (for a certain kind of people) and will fix a
limit whom I will admit into Paradise. I will come back again, and when I see my
LORD (again), I will fall down in prostration before HIM, and HE will leave me (in
prostration) as long as HE wishes, and then HE will say, 'O Muhammad [S.A.W.S]!
Raise your head and speak, for you will be listened to; and ask, for you will be
granted (your request); and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted.'
I will then Praise my LORD with certain Praises which HE has taught me, and then
I will intercede. ALLAH [S.W.T] will allow me to intercede (for a certain kind of
people) and will fix a limit to whom I will admit into Paradise, I will return again,
and when I see my LORD, I will fall down (in prostration) and HE will leave me (in
prostration) as long as HE wishes, and then HE will say, 'O Muhammad [S.A.W.S]!
Raise your head and speak, for you will be listened to, and ask, for you will be
granted (your request); and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted.'
I will then Praise my LORD with certain Praises which HE has taught me, and then
I will intercede. ALLAH [S.W.T] will allow me to intercede (for a certain kind of
people) and will fix a limit to whom I will admit into Paradise.
I will come back and say, 'O my LORD! None remains in Hell (Fire) but those whom
Qur'an has imprisoned therein and for whom eternity in Hell (Fire) has become inevitable.'
"The Prophet [S.A.W.S] added, "There will come out of Hell (Fire) everyone
who says: 'La ilaha illal-lah,' and has in his heart good equal to the weight of
a barley grain. Then there will come out of Hell (Fire) everyone who says: ' La
ilaha illal-lah,' and has in his heart good equal to the weight of a wheat grain.
Then there will come out of Hell (Fire) everyone who says: 'La ilaha illal-lah,'
and has in his heart good equal to the weight of an atom (or a smallest ant)."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 9, Book 93: Oneness, Uniqueness of ALLAH [S.W.T] (Tawheed), Number 532c:
Narrated 'Ata' bin
Yazid Al-Laithi (R.A) on the authority of Abu Huraira (R.A):
The people said, "O ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle
(R.A)! Shall we see our LORD on the Day of Resurrection?" The Prophet (R.A)
said, "Do you have any difficulty in seeing the moon on a full moon night?"
They said, "No, O ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle (R.A)." He said, "Do you
have any difficulty in seeing the sun when there are no clouds?" They said,
"No, O ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle (R.A)." He said, "So you will see
HIM, like that. ALLAH [S.W.T] will gather all the people on the Day of Resurrection,
and say, 'Whoever Worshiped something (in the world) should follow (that thing),'
so, whoever Worshiped the sun will follow the sun, and whoever Worshiped the moon
will follow the moon, and whoever used to Worship certain (other false) deities,
he will follow those deities. And there will remain only this nation with its good
people (or its hypocrites). (The sub-narrator, Ibrahim (R.A) is in doubt.) ALLAH
[S.W.T] will come to them and say, 'I am your LORD.' They will (deny HIM and) say,
'We will stay here till our LORD comes, for when our LORD comes, we will recognize
HIM.' So ALLAH [S.W.T] will come to them in HIS appearance which they know, and
will say, 'I am your LORD.' They will say, 'YOU are our LORD,' so they will follow
HIM. Then a bridge will be laid across Hell (Fire)' I and my followers will be the
first ones to go across it and none will speak on that Day except the Apostles (P.B.U.T).
And the invocation of the Apostles (P.B.U.T) on that Day will be, 'O ALLAH [S.W.T],
save! Save!' In Hell (or over The Bridge) there will be hooks like the thorns of
As-Sa'dan (thorny plant). Have you seen As-Sa'dan? " They replied, "Yes,
O ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S]!" He said, "So those hooks look like
the thorns of As-Sa'dan, but none knows how big they are except ALLAH [S.W.T]. Those
hooks will snap the people away according to their deeds. Some of the people will
stay in Hell (be destroyed) because of their (evil) deeds, and some will be cut
or torn by the hooks (and fall into Hell) and some will be punished and then relieved.
When ALLAH [S.W.T] has finished HIS Judgments among the people, HE will take whomever
HE will out of Hell through HIS Mercy. HE will then order the Angels (P.B.U.T) to
take out of the Fire all those who used to Worship none but ALLAH [S.W.T] from among
those whom ALLAH [S.W.T] wanted to be Merciful to and those who testified (in the
world) that none has the right to be Worshiped but ALLAH [S.W.T]. The Angels (P.B.U.T)
will recognize them in the Fire by the marks of prostration (on their foreheads),
for the Fire will eat up all the human body except the mark caused by prostration
as ALLAH [S.W.T] has forbidden the Fire to eat the mark of prostration. They will
come out of the (Hell) Fire, completely burnt and then the water of life will be
poured over them and they will grow under it as does a seed that comes in the mud
of the torrent. Then ALLAH [S.W.T] will finish the Judgments among the people, and
there will remain one man facing the (Hell) Fire and he will be the last person
among the people of Hell to enter Paradise. He will say, 'O my LORD! Please turn
my face away from the fire because its air has hurt me and its severe heat has burnt
me.' So he will invoke ALLAH [S.W.T] in the way ALLAH [S.W.T] will wish him to invoke,
and then ALLAH [S.W.T] will say to him, 'If I grant you that, will you then ask
for anything else?' He will reply, 'No, by YOUR Power, (Honor) I will not ask YOU
for anything else.' He will give his LORD whatever promises and covenants ALLAH
[S.W.T] will demand. So ALLAH [S.W.T] will turn his face away from Hell (Fire).
When he will face Paradise and will see it, he will remain quiet for as long as
ALLAH [S.W.T] will wish him to remain quiet, then he will say, 'O my LORD! Bring
me near to the gate of Paradise.' ALLAH [S.W.T] will say to him, 'Didn't you give
your promises and covenants that you would never ask for anything more than what
you had been given? Woe on you, O Adam (P.B.U.H)'s son! How treacherous you are!'
He will say, 'O my LORD,' and will keep on invoking ALLAH [S.W.T] till HE says to
him, 'If I give what you are asking, will you then ask for anything else?' He will
reply, 'No, by YOUR (Honor) Power, I will not ask for anything else.' Then he will
give covenants and promises to ALLAH [S.W.T] and then ALLAH [S.W.T] will bring him
near to the gate of Paradise. When he stands at the gate of Paradise, Paradise will be opened and spread before him, and he will
see its splendor and pleasures whereupon he will remain quiet as long as ALLAH [S.W.T]
will wish him to remain quiet, and then he will say, O my LORD! Admit me into Paradise.'
ALLAH [S.W.T] will say, 'Didn't you give your covenants and promises that you would
not ask for anything more than what you had been given?' ALLAH [S.W.T] will say,
'Woe on you, O Adam (P.B.U.H)'s son! How treacherous you are! ' The man will say,
'O my LORD! Do not make me the most miserable of YOUR Creation,' and he will keep
on invoking ALLAH [S.W.T] till ALLAH [S.W.T] will laugh because of his sayings,
and when ALLAH [S.W.T] will laugh because of him, HE will say to him, 'Enter Paradise,'
and when he will enter it, ALLAH [S.W.T] will say to him, 'Wish for anything.' So
he will ask his LORD, and he will wish for a great number of things, for ALLAH [S.W.T]
HIMSELF will remind him to wish for certain things by saying, '(Wish for) so-and-so.'
When there is nothing more to wish for, ALLAH [S.W.T] will say, 'This is for you,
and its equal (is for you) as well." 'Ata' bin Yazid (R.A) added: Abu Sa'id
Al-Khudri (R.A) who was present with Abu Huraira (R.A), did not deny whatever the
latter said, but when Abu Huraira (R.A) said that ALLAH [S.W.T] had said, "That
is for you and its equal as well," Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (R.A) said, "And
ten times as much, O Abu Huraira (R.A)!" Abu Huraira (R.A) said, "I do
not remember, except his saying, 'That is for you and its equal as well.'"
Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (R.A) then said, "I testify that I remember the Prophet
[S.A.W.S] saying, 'That is for you, and ten times as much.'" Abu Huraira (R.A)
then added, "That man will be the last person of the people of Paradise to
enter Paradise."
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 9, Book 93: Oneness, Uniqueness of ALLAH [S.W.T] (Tawheed), Number 532s:
Narrated Abu Sa'id
Al-Khudri (R.A):
We said, "O ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S]!
Shall we see our LORD on the Day of Resurrection?" He said, "Do you have
any difficulty in seeing the sun and the moon when the sky is clear?" We said,
"No." He said, "So you will have no difficulty in seeing your LORD
on that Day as you have no difficulty in seeing the sun and the moon (in a clear
sky)." The Prophet [S.A.W.S] then said, "Somebody will then announce,
'Let every nation follow what they used to Worship.' So the companions of the cross
will go with their cross, and the idolators (will go) with their idols, and the
companions of every god (false deities) (will go) with their god, till there remain
those who used to Worship ALLAH [S.W.T], both the obedient ones and the mischievous
ones, and some of the people of the Scripture. Then Hell will be presented to them
as if it were a mirage. Then it will be said to the Jews, "What did you use
to Worship?' They will reply, 'We used to Worship Ezra (P.B.U.H), the son of ALLAH
[S.W.T].' It will be said to them, 'You are liars, for ALLAH [S.W.T] has neither
a wife nor a son. What do you want (now)?' They will reply, 'We want YOU to provide
us with water.' Then it will be said to them 'Drink,' and they will fall down in
Hell (instead). Then it will be said to the Christians, 'What did you use to Worship?'
They will reply, 'We used to Worship Messiah (P.B.U.H), the son of ALLAH [S.W.T].'
It will be said, 'You are liars, for ALLAH [S.W.T] has neither a wife nor a son.
What do you want (now)?' They will say, 'We want YOU to provide us with water.'
It will be said to them, 'Drink,' and they will fall down in Hell (instead). When
there remain only those who used to Worship ALLAH [S.W.T] (Alone), both the obedient
ones and the mischievous ones, it will be said to them, 'What keeps you here when
all the people have gone?' They will say, 'We parted with them (in the world) when
we were in greater need of them than we are today, we heard the call of one proclaiming,
'Let every nation follow what they used to Worship,' and now we are waiting for
our LORD.' Then the ALMIGHTY will come to them in a shape other than the one which
they saw the first time, and HE will say, 'I am your LORD,' and they will say, 'You
are not our LORD.' And none will speak to HIM then but the Prophets (P.B.U.T), and
then it will be said to them, 'Do you know any sign by which you can recognize HIM?'
They will say. 'The Shin,' and so ALLAH [S.W.T] will then uncover HIS Shin whereupon
every believer will prostrate before HIM and there will remain those who used to
prostrate before HIM just for showing off and for gaining good reputation. These
people will try to prostrate but their backs will be rigid like one piece of a wood
(and they will not be able to prostrate). Then the bridge will be laid across Hell."
We, the Companions (R.A) of the Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "O ALLAH [S.W.T]’s
Apostle [S.A.W.S]! What is the bridge?' He said, "It is a slippery (bridge)
on which there are clamps and (Hooks like) a thorny seed that is wide at one side
and narrow at the other and has thorns with bent ends. Such a thorny seed is found
in Najd and is called As-Sa'dan. Some of the believers
will cross the bridge as quickly as the wink of an eye, some others as quick as
lightning, a strong wind, fast horses or she-camels. So some will be safe without
any harm; some will be safe after receiving some scratches, and some will fall down
into Hell (Fire). The last person will cross by being dragged (over the bridge)."
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "You (Muslims) cannot be more pressing in claiming
from me a right that has been clearly proved to be yours than the believers in interceding
with ALMIGHTY for their (Muslim) brothers on that Day, when they see themselves
safe. They will say, 'O ALLAH! (Save) our brothers (for they) used to pray with
us, fast with us and also do good deeds with us.' ALLAH [S.W.T] will say, 'Go and
take out (of Hell) anyone in whose heart you find faith equal to the weight of one
(gold) Dinar.' ALLAH [S.W.T] will forbid the Fire to burn the faces of those sinners.
They will go to them and find some of them in Hell (Fire) up to their feet, and
some up to the middle of their legs. So they will take out those whom they will
recognize and then they will return, and ALLAH [S.W.T] will say (to them), 'Go and
take out (of Hell) anyone in whose heart you find faith equal to the weight of one
half Dinar.' They will take out whomever they will recognize and return, and then
ALLAH [S.W.T] will say, 'Go and take out (of Hell) anyone in whose heart you find
faith equal to the weight of an atom (or a smallest ant), and so they will take
out all those whom they will recognize." Abu Sa'id (R.A) said: If you do not
believe me then read the Holy Verse:-- 'Surely! ALLAH wrongs not even of the weight
of an atom (or a smallest ant) but if there is any good (done) HE doubles it.' (4.40)
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] added, "Then the Prophets and Angels (P.B.U.T) and the
believers will intercede, and (last of all) the ALMIGHTY (ALLAH [S.W.T]) will say,
'Now remains MY Intercession. HE will then hold a handful of the Fire from which
HE will take out some people whose bodies have been burnt, and they will be thrown
into a river at the entrance of Paradise, called
the water of life. They will grow on its banks, as a seed carried by the torrent
grows. You have noticed how it grows beside a rock or beside a tree, and how the
side facing the sun is usually green while the side facing the shade is white. Those
people will come out (of the River of Life) like pearls, and they will have (golden)
necklaces, and then they will enter Paradise whereupon the people of Paradise will
say, 'These are the people emancipated by the BENEFICENT. HE has admitted them into
Paradise without them having done any good deeds and without sending forth any good
(for themselves).' Then it will be said to them, 'For you is what you have seen
and its equivalent as well.'"
Sahih Bukhari:
Volume 9, Book 93: Oneness, Uniqueness of ALLAH [S.W.T] (Tawheed), Number 532v:
Narrated Anas (R.A):
The Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "The believers
will be kept (waiting) on the Day of Resurrection so long that they will become
worried and say, "Let us ask somebody to intercede far us with our LORD so
that HE may relieve us from our place. Then they will go to Adam (P.B.U.H) and say,
'You are Adam (P.B.U.H), the father of the people. ALLAH [S.W.T] created you with
HIS OWN Hand and made you reside in HIS Paradise
and ordered HIS Angels (P.B.U.T) to prostrate before you, and taught you the names
of all things will you intercede for us with your LORD so that HE may relieve us
from this place of ours? Adam (P.B.U.H) will say, 'I am not fit for this undertaking.'
He will mention his mistakes he had committed, i.e., his eating off the tree though
he had been forbidden to do so. He will add, 'Go to Noah (P.B.U.H), the first Prophet
sent by ALLAH [S.W.T] to the people of the Earth.' The people will go to Noah (P.B.U.H)
who will say, 'I am not fit for this undertaking' He will mention his mistake which
he had done, i.e., his asking his LORD without knowledge.' He will say (to them),
'Go to Abraham (P.B.U.H), Khalil Ar-Rahman.' They will go to Abraham (P.B.U.H) who
will say, 'I am not fit for this undertaking. He would mention three words by which
he told a lie, and say (to them). 'Go to Moses (P.B.U.H), a slave whom ALLAH [S.W.T]
gave the Torah and spoke to, directly and brought near HIM, for conversation.' They
will go to Moses (P.B.U.H) who will say, 'I am not fit for this undertaking. He
will mention his mistake he made, i.e., killing a person, and will say (to them),
'Go to Jesus (P.B.U.H), ALLAH [S.W.T]’s slave and HIS Apostle, and a soul created
by HIM and HIS Word.' (Be: And it was.) They will go to Jesus (P.B.U.H) who will
say, 'I am not fit for this undertaking but you'd better go to Muhammad [S.A.W.S]
the slave whose past and future sins have been forgiven by ALLAH [S.W.T].' So they
will come to me, and I will ask my LORD's permission to enter HIS House and then
I will be permitted. When I see HIM I will fall down in prostration before HIM,
and HE will leave me (in prostration) as long as HE will, and then HE will say,
'O Muhammad [S.A.W.S], lift up your head and speak, for you will be listened to,
and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted, and ask (for anything) for
it will be granted:' Then I will raise my head and Glorify my LORD with certain
Praises which HE has taught me. ALLAH [S.W.T] will put a limit for me (to intercede
for a certain type of people) I will take them out and make them enter Paradise."
(Qatada (R.A) said: I heard Anas (R.A) saying that), the Prophet [S.A.W.S] said,
"I will go out and take them out of Hell (Fire) and let them enter Paradise,
and then I will return and ask my LORD for permission to enter HIS House and I will
be permitted. When I will see HIM I will fall down in prostration before HIM and
HE will leave me in prostration as long as HE will let me (in that state), and then
HE will say, 'O Muhammad [S.A.W.S], raise your head and speak, for you will be listened
to, and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted, and ask, your request
will be granted.'" The Prophet [S.A.W.S] added, "So I will raise my head
and Glorify and Praise HIM as HE has taught me. Then I will intercede and HE will
put a limit for me (to intercede for a certain type of people). I will take them
out and let them enter Paradise." (Qatada (R.A) added: I heard Anas (R.A) saying
that) the Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, 'I will go out and take them out of Hell (Fire)
and let them enter Paradise, and I will return for the third time and will ask my
LORD for permission to enter HIS house, and I will be allowed to enter. When I see
HIM, I will fall down in prostration before HIM, and will remain in prostration
as long as HE will, and then HE will say, 'Raise your head, O Muhammad [S.A.W.S],
and speak, for you will be listened to, and intercede, for your intercession will
be accepted, and ask, for your request will be granted.' So I will raise my head
and Praise ALLAH [S.W.T] as HE has taught me and then I will intercede and HE will
put a limit for me (to intercede for a certain type of people). I will take them
out and let them enter Paradise." (Qatada (R.A) said: I heard Anas (R.A) saying
that) the Prophet [S.A.W.S] said, "So I will go out and take them out of Hell
(Fire) and let them enter Paradise, till none will remain in the Fire except those
whom Qur’an will imprison (i.e., those who are destined for eternal life in the
fire)." The narrator then recited the Verse:-- "It may be that your LORD
will raise you to a Station of Praise and Glory.' (17.79) The narrator added: This
is the Station of Praise and Glory which ALLAH [S.W.T] has promised to your Prophet
[S.A.W.S].
Sahih Muslim: Chapter 48, Book 1: Faith (Kitab Al Iman), Number 0202:
It is narrated on
the authority of Thabit b. al-Dahhak (R.A):
That the Apostle of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] observes:
None is obliged to give votive offering (of a thing) which is not in his possession
and the cursing of a believer is tantamount to killing him, and he who killed himself
with a thing in this world would be tormented with that (very thing) on the Day
of Resurrection, and he who made a false claim to increase (his wealth), ALLAH [S.W.T]
would make no addition but that of paucity, and he who perjured would earn the wrath
of ALLAH [S.W.T].
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 48, Book 1: Faith (Kitab Al Iman), Number 0205:
It is narrated on
the authority of Abu Huraira (R.A):
We participated in the Battle of Hunain along with
the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]. He (the Holy Prophet [S.A.W.S]) said about
a man who claimed to be a Muslim that he was one of the denizens of the Fire (of
Hell). When we were in the thick of the battle that man fought desperately and was
wounded. It was said: Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S], the person whom you
at first called as the denizen of Fire fought desperately and died. Upon this the
Apostle of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]) remarked: He was doomed to the Fire (of Hell).
Some men were on the verge of doubt (about his fate) when it was said that he was
not dead but fatally wounded. When it was night he could not stand the (pain of
his) wound and killed himself. The Apostle [S.A.W.S] was informed of that. He (the
Holy Prophet [S.A.W.S]) observed: ALLAH is Great, I bear testimony to the fact that
I am the servant of ALLAH [S.W.T] and HIS Messenger. He then commanded Bilal (R.A)
to announce to the people that none but a Muslim would enter Paradise. Verily ALLAH
[S.W.T] helps this faith even by a sinful person.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 55, Book 1: Faith (Kitab Al Iman), Number 0221:
It is narrated on
the authority of Ibn 'Abbas (R.A):
That some persons amongst the polytheist had committed
a large number of murders and had excessively indulged in fornication. Then they
came to Muhammad [S.A.W.S] and said: Whatever you assert and whatever you call to
is indeed good. But if you inform us that there is atonement of our past deeds (then
we would embrace Islam). Then it was revealed: And those who call not unto another
god along with ALLAH and slay not any soul which ALLAH has forbidden except in the
cause of justice, nor commit fornication; and he who does this shall meet the requital
of sin. Multiplied for him shall be the torment on the Day of Resurrection, and
he shall therein abide disgraced, except him who repents a believes and does good
deeds. Then these! for the ALLAH shall change their vices into virtues. Verily ALLAH
is EVER FORGIVING, MERCIFUL (25.68-70). Say thou: O my bondsmen who have committed
extravagance against themselves despair not of the Mercy of ALLAH. I Verily, ALLAH
will forgive the sins altogether. HE is indeed the FORGIVING, the MERCIFUL (39.53).
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 56, Book 1: Faith (Kitab Al Iman), Number 0223:
Hakim b. Hizam (R.A)
reported to ‘Urwa b. Zubair (R.A):
That he said to the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T]
[S.A.W.S]: Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S], do you think if there is any reward
(of the LORD with me on the Day of Resurrection) for the deeds of religious purification
that I performed in the state of ignorance, such as charity, freeing a slave, cementing
of blood relations? Upon this he (the Apostle of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]) said to
him: You have accepted Islam with all the previous virtues that you had practiced.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 67, Book 1: Faith (Kitab Al Iman), Number 0273:
It is narrated on
the authority of Anas (R.A):
That verily the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]
observed: The Hour (Resurrection) would not come so long as ALLAH [S.W.T] is supplicated
in the world.
Sahih Muslim,
Chapter 81, Book 1: Faith (Kitab Al Iman), Number 0349:
Abu Huraira (R.A)
reported:
The people said to the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T]
[S.A.W.S]; Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S], shall we see our LORD on the Day
of Resurrection? The Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] said: Do you feel any
trouble in seeing the moon on the night when it is full? They said: Messenger of
ALLAH [S.W.T], no. He (the Messenger [S.A.W.S]) further said: Do you feel any trouble
in seeing the sun, when there is no cloud over it? They said: Messenger of ALLAH
[S.W.T] [S.A.W.S], no. He (the Holy Prophet [S.A.W.S]) said: Verily you would see
HIM like this (as you see the sun and the moon). ALLAH [S.W.T] will gather people
on the Day of Resurrection and say: Let every people follow what they Worshiped.
Those who Worshiped the sun would follow the sun, and those who Worshiped the moon
would follow the moon, and those who Worshiped the devils would follow the devils.
This Ummah (of Islam) alone would be left behind and there would be hypocrites too
amongst it. ALLAH [S.W.T] would then come to them in a form other than HIS own Form,
recognizable to them, and would say: I am your LORD. They would say: We take refuge
with ALLAH [S.W.T] from thee. We will stay here till our LORD comes to us. And when
our LORD would come we would recognize HIM. Subsequently ALLAH [S.W.T] would come
to them in HIS own Form, recognizable to them, and say: I am your LORD. They would
say: THOU art our LORD. And they would follow HIM, and a bridge would be set over
the Hell; and I (the Holy Prophet [S.A.W.S]) and my Ummah would be the first to
pass over it; and none but the Messengers (P.B.U.T) would speak on that day, and
the prayer of the Messengers (P.B.U.T) on that day would be: O ALLAH [S.W.T]! Grant
safety, grant safety. In Hell, there would be long spits like the thorns of Sa’dan
He (the Holy Prophet [S.A.W.S]) said: Have you seen Sa’dan? They replied: Yes, Messenger
of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]. He said: Verily those (hooks) would be like the thorns
of Sa’dan, but no one knows their size except ALLAH [S.W.T]. These would seize people
for their misdeeds. Some of them would escape for their (good) deeds, and some would
be rewarded for their deeds till they get salvation. When ALLAH [S.W.T] would finish
Judging HIS bondsmen and because of HIS mercy decide to take out of Hell such people
as HE pleases. HE would command the Angels (P.B.U.T) to bring out those who had
not associated anything with ALLAH [S.W.T]; to whom ALLAH [S.W.T] decided to show
Mercy. Those who would say: There is no god but ALLAH. They (the Angels (P.B.U.T))
would recognize them in the Fire by the marks of prostration, for Hell-fire will
devour everything (limb) of the sons of Adam (P.B.U.H) except the marks of prostration.
ALLAH [S.W.T] has forbidden the fire to consume the marks of prostration. They will
be taken out of the Fire having been burnt, and the water of life would be poured
over them, and they will sprout as seed does in the silt carried by flood. Then
ALLAH [S.W.T] would finish Judging amongst HIS bondsmen; but a man who will be the
last to enter Paradise will remain facing Hell and will say: O my LORD! Turn my
face away from Hell, for its air has poisoned me and its blaze has burnt me. He
will then call to ALLAH [S.W.T] as long as ALLAH [S.W.T] would wish that he should
call to HIM. Then ALLAH [S.W.T], BLESSED and EXALTED, would say: If I did that,
perhaps you would ask for more than that. He would say: I would not ask YOU more
than this, and he would give his LORD covenants and agreements as ALLAH [S.W.T]
wished, and so HE would turn his face away from the Fire. When he turns towards
the Paradise and sees it, he will remain silent as long as ALLAH [S.W.T] wishes
him to remain so. He will then say: O my LORD! Bring me forward to the gate of the
Paradise. ALLAH [S.W.T] would say to him: Did you not give covenants and agreements
that you would not ask for anything besides what I had given you. Woe to thee! O
son of Adam (P.B.U.H), how treacherous you are! He would say: O my LORD! And would
continue calling to ALLAH [S.W.T] till HE would say to him: If I grant you that,
perhaps you will ask for more. He will reply: No, by THY Greatness, and he will
give his LORD promises and covenants as ALLAH [S.W.T] had wished. He would then
bring him to the gate of the Paradise, and when he would stand at the gate of the
Paradise, it would lay open before him and he would see the bounty and the joy that
there is in it. He would remain quiet as long as ALLAH [S.W.T] would desire him
to remain silent. He would then say: O my LORD, admit me to Paradise. ALLAH [S.W.T],
BLESSED and EXALTED, would say: Did you not give covenants and agreements that you
would not ask for anything more than what I had granted you? Woe to you! Son of
Adam (P.B.U.H), how treacherous you are! And he would say: O my LORD, I do not wish
to be the most miserable of THY Creatures. He would continue calling upon ALLAH
[S.W.T] till ALLAH [S.W.T], BLESSED and EXALTED, would laugh. When ALLAH [S.W.T]
would laugh at him, HE would say: Enter the Paradise. When he would enter, ALLAH
[S.W.T] would say: State your wish. He would express his wishes till ALLAH [S.W.T]
would remind him (the desire of) such and such (things). When his desires would
be exhausted ALLAH [S.W.T] would say: That is for thee and, besides it, the like
of it also. ‘Ata’ b. Yazid said: Abu Sa’id al-Khudri was with Abu Huraira (R.A)
and he did not reject anything from the Hadith narrated by him, but when Abu Huraira
(R.A) narrated: "ALLAH [S.W.T] said to that man; and its like along with it,"
Abu Sa’id (R.A) said: "Ten like it along with it," O Abu Huraira (R.A).
Abu Huraira (R.A) said: I do not remember except the words: "That is for you
and a similar one along with it." Abu Sa’id (R.A) said: I bear witness to the
fact that I remembered from the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] his words:
"That is for thee and ten like it." Abu Huraira (R.A) said: That man was
the last of those deserving of Paradise to enter Paradise.
Sahih Muslim,
Chapter 81, Book 1: Faith (Kitab Al Iman), Number 0352:
Abu Sa’id al-Khudri
(R.A) reported:
Some people during the lifetime of the Messenger
of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] said: Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]! Shall we
see our LORD on the Day of Resurrection? The Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]
said: Yes, and added: Do you feel any trouble in seeing the sun at noon with no
cloud over it, and do you feel trouble in seeing the moon (open) in the full moonlit
night with no cloud over it? They said: No, Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]!
He (the Holy Prophet [S.A.W.S]) said: You will not feel any trouble in seeing ALLAH
[S.W.T] on the Day of Resurrection any more than you do in seeing any one of them.
When the Day of Resurrection comes a Mu’adhdhin (a proclaimer) would proclaim: Let
every people follow what they used to Worship. Then all who Worshiped idols and
stones besides ALLAH [S.W.T] would fall into the Fire, till only the righteous and
the vicious and some of the people of the Book who Worshiped ALLAH [S.W.T] are left.
Then the Jews would be summoned, and it would be said to them: What did you Worship?
They will say: We Worshiped ‘Uzair (P.B.U.H), son of ALLAH [S.W.T]. It would be
said to them: You tell a lie; ALLAH [S.W.T] had never had a spouse or a son. What
do you want now? They would say: We feel thirsty, O our LORD! Quench our thirst.
They would be directed (to a certain direction) and asked: Why don’t you go there
to drink water? Then they would be pushed towards the Fire (and they would find
to their great dismay that) it was but a mirage (and the raging flames of fire)
would be consuming one another, and they would fall into the Fire. Then the Christians
would be summoned and it would be said to them: What did you Worship? They would
say: We Worshiped Jesus (P.B.U.H), son of ALLAH [S.W.T]. It would be said to them:
You tell a lie; ALLAH [S.W.T] did not take for HIMSELF either a spouse or a son.
Then it would be said to them: What do you want? They would say: Thirsty we are,
O our LORD! Quench our thirst. They would be directed (to a certain direction) and
asked: Why don’t you go there to get water? But they would be pushed and gathered
together towards the Hell, which was like a mirage to them, and the flames would
consume one another. They would fall Into the Fire, till no one is left except he
who Worshiped ALLAH [S.W.T], be he pious or sinful. The LORD of the Universe, GLORIFIED
and EXALTED, would come to them in a form recognizable to them and say; What are
you looking for? Every people follow that which they Worshiped. They would say:
Our LORD, we kept ourselves separate from the people in the world, though we felt
great need of them; we, however, did not associate ourselves with them. HE would
say: I am your LORD. They would say: We take refuge with ALLAH [S.W.T] from thee
and do not associate anything with ALLAH [S.W.T]. They would repeat it twice or
thrice, till some of them would be about to return. It would be said: Is there any
sign between you and HIM by which you will recognize HIM? They would say: Yes. And
the things would be laid bare. Those who used to prostrate themselves before ALLAH
[S.W.T] of their own accord would be permitted by ALLAH [S.W.T] to prostrate themselves.
But there would remain none who used to prostrate out of fear (of people) and ostentation
but ALLAH [S.W.T] would make his back as one piece, and whenever he would attempt
to prostrate he would fall on his back. Then they would raise their heads and HE
would assume the Form in which they had seen HIM the first time and would say: I
am your LORD. They would say: THOU art our LORD. Then the bridge would be set up
over the Hell and intercession would be allowed and they will say: O ALLAH [S.W.T],
keep safe, keep safe. It was asked: Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S], what is
this bridge? He said: The void in which one is likely to slip. There would be hooks,
tongs, spits like the thorn that is found in Najd and is known as Sa’dan. The believers
would then pass over within the twinkling of an eye, like lightning, like wind,
like a bird, like the finest horses and camels. Some will escape and be safe, some
will be lacerated and let go, and some will be pushed into the fire of Hell till
the believers will find rescue from the Fire. By ONE in WHOSE Hand is my life, there
will be none among you more eager to claim a right than the believers on the Day
of Resurrection for (saying their) brethren in the Fire who would say: O our LORD,
they were fasting along with us, and praying and performing pilgrimage. It will
be said to them: Take out those whom you recognize. Then their persons would be
forbidden to the Fire; and they would take out a large number of people who had
been overtaken by Fire up to the middle of the shank or up to the knees. They would
then say: O our LORD! I not one of those about whom THOU didst give us command remains
in it. HE will then say: Go back and bring out those in whose hearts you find good
of the weight of a dinar. Then they will take out a large number of people. Then
they would say: O our LORD! We have not left anyone about whom YOU commanded us.
HE will then say: Go back and bring out those in whose hearts you find as much as
half a dinar of good. Then they will take out a large number of people, and would
say: O our LORD! Not one of those about whom THOU commanded us we have left in it.
Then HE would say: Go back and in whose heart you find good to the weight of a particle
bring him out. They would bring out a large number of people, and would then say:
O our LORD, now we have not left anyone in it (Hell) having any good in him. Abu
Sa’id Khudri (R.A) said: If you don’t testify me in this Hadith, then recite if
you like: "Surely ALLAH wrongs not the weight of an atom; and if it is a good
deed. HE multiplies it and gives from HIMSELF a great reward" (al-Qur’an, 4.40).
Then ALLAH [S.W.T], EXALTED and GREAT, would say: The Angels (P.B.U.T) have interceded,
the Apostles (P.B.U.T) have interceded and the believers have interceded, and no
one remains (to grant pardon) but the MOST MERCIFUL of the mercifuls. He will then
take a handful from Fire and bring out from it people who never did any good and
who had been turned into charcoal, and will cast them into a river called the river
of life, on the outskirts of Paradise. They will come out as a seed comes cut from
the silt carried by flood. You see it near the stone or near the tree. That which
is exposed to the sun is yellowish or greenish and which is under the shade is white.
They said: Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]! It seems as if you had been tending
a flock in the jungle. He (the Holy Prophet [S.A.W.S]) said: They will come forth
like pearls with seals on their necks. The inhabitants of Paradise would recognize
them (and say): Those are who have been set free by the COMPASSIONATE ONE. WHO has
admitted them into Paradise without any (good) deed that they did or any good that
they sent in advance Then HE would say: Enter the Paradise; whatever you see in
it is yours. They would say: O LORD, THOU hast bestowed upon us (Favors) which THOU
didst not bestow upon anyone else in the world. HE would say: There is with ME (a
Favor) for you better than this. They would say: O our LORD! which thing is better
than this? HE would say: It is MY pleasure. I will never be angry with you after
this.
Sahih Muslim,
Chapter 81, Book 1: Faith (Kitab Al Iman), Number 0353:
It is narrated on
the authority of Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (R.A):
We said: Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S],
shall we see our LORD? The Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] said: Do you feel
any trouble in seeing the sun on a cloudless day? We said: No. And the remaining
part of the Hadith has been narrated to the end like the Hadith transmitted by Hafs
b. Maisara (R.A) with the addition of these words: Without the deed that they did
or any good that they had sent before. It would be said to them: For you is whatever
you see (in it) and with it the like of it. Abu Sa’id (R.A) said: I have come to
know that the bridge would be thinner even than the hair and sharper than the sword;
and in the Hadith narrated by Laith (R.A) these words are not found: They would
say, O our LORD! THOU hast bestowed upon us (Favors) which THOU didst not bestow
on anyone else in the world.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 83, Book 1: Faith (Kitab Al Iman), Number 0367:
It is reported on
the authority of Abu Zubair (R.A):
That he heard from Jabir b ‘Abdullah (R.A), who
was asked about the arrival (of people on the Day of Resurrection). He said. We
would come on the Day of Resurrection like this, like this, and see carefully that
which concerns "elevated people". He (the narrator) said: Then the people
would be summoned along with their idols whom they Worshiped, one after another.
Then our LORD would come to us and say: Whom are you waiting for? They would say:
We are waiting for our LORD. HE would say: I am your LORD. They would say: (We are
not sure) till we gaze at THEE, and HE would manifest HIMSELF to them smilingly,
and would go along with them and they would follow HIM; and every person, whether
a hypocrite or a believer, would be endowed with a light, and there would be spikes
and hooks on the bridge of the Hell, which would catch hold of those whom ALLAH
[S.W.T] willed. Then the light of the hypocrites would be extinguished, and the
believers would secure salvation. And the first group to achieve it would comprise
seventy thousand men who would have the brightness of full moon on their faces,
and they would not be called to account. Then the people immediately following them
would have their faces as the brightest stars in the heaven. This is how (the groups
would follow one after another). Then the stage of intercession would come, and
they (who are permitted to intercede) would intercede, till he who had declared:
"There is no god but ALLAH" and had in his heart virtue of the weight
of a barley grain would come out of the Fire. They would be then brought in the
courtyard of Paradise and the inhabitants of Paradise would begin to sprinkle water
over them till they would sprout like the sprouting of a thing in flood water, and
their burns would disappear. They would ask their LORD till they would be granted
(the bounties) of the world and with it ten more besides it.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 83, Book 1: Faith (Kitab Al Iman), Number 0378:
Abu Huraira (R.A)
reported:
Meat was one day brought to the Messenger of ALLAH
[S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] and a foreleg was offered to him, a part which he liked. He sliced
with his teeth a piece out of it and said: I shall be the leader of mankind on the
Day of Resurrection. Do you know why? ALLAH [S.W.T] would gather in one plain the
earlier and the later (of the human race) on the Day of Resurrection. Then the voice
of the proclaimer would be heard by all of them and the eyesight would penetrate
through all of them and the sun would come near. People would then experience a
degree of anguish, anxiety and agony which they shall not be able to bear and they
shall not be able to stand. Some people would say to the others: Don’t you see in
which trouble you are? Don’t you see what (misfortune) has overtaken you? Why don’t
you find one who should intercede for you with your LORD? Some would say to the
others: Go to Adam (P.B.U.H). And they would go to Adam (P.B.U.H) and say: O Adam
(P.B.U.H), Thou art the father of mankind. ALLAH [S.W.T] created thee by HIS Own
Hand and breathed in thee of HIS spirit and ordered the Angels (P.B.U.T) to prostrate
before thee. Intercede for us with thy LORD. Don’t you see in what (trouble) we
are? Don’t you see what (misfortune) has overtaken us? Adam (P.B.U.H) would say:
Verily, my LORD is angry, to an extent to which HE had never been angry before nor
would HE be angry afterward. Verily, HE forbade me (to go near) that tree and I
disobeyed HIM. I am concerned with my own self. Go to someone else; go to Noah (P.B.U.H).
They would come to Noah (P.B.U.H) and would say: O Noah (P.B.U.H), Thou art the
first of the Messengers (sent) on the earth (after Adam (P.B.U.H)), and ALLAH [S.W.T]
named thee as a "Grateful Servant," intercede for us with thy LORD. Don’t
you see in what (trouble) we are? Don’t you see what (misfortune) has overtaken
us? He would say: Verily, my LORD is angry today as HE had never been angry before,
and would never be angry afterwards. There had emanated a curse from me with which
I cursed my people. I am concerned with only myself, I am concerned only with myself;
you better go to Ibrahim (P.B.U.H). They would go to Ibrahim (P.B.U.H) and say:
Thou art the Apostle of ALLAH [S.W.T] and HIS Friend amongst the inhabitants of
the earth; intercede for us with thy LORD. Don’t you see in which (trouble) we are?
Don’t you see what (misfortune) has overtaken us? Ibrahim (P.B.U.H) would say to
them: Verily, my LORD is today angry as HE had never been angry before and would
never be angry afterwards. And (Ibrahim (P.B.U.H)) would mention his lies (and then
say): I am concerned only with myself, I am concerned only with myself. You better
go to someone else: go to Moses (P.B.U.H). They would come to Moses (P.B.U.H) and
say: O Moses (P.B.U.H), Thou art ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger, ALLAH [S.W.T] blessed
thee with HIS Messengership and HIS conversation amongst people. Intercede for us
with thy LORD. Don’t you see in what (trouble) we are? Don’t you see what (misfortune)
has overtaken us? Moses (P.B.U.H) would say to them: Verily, my LORD is angry as
HE had never been angry before and would never be angry afterwards. I, in fact,
killed a person whom I had not been ordered to kill. I am concerned with myself,
I am concerned with myself. You better go to Jesus (P.B.U.H). They would come to
Jesus (P.B.U.H) and would say: O Jesus (P.B.U.H), Thou art the Messenger of ALLAH
[S.W.T] and thou conversed with people in the cradle, (thou art) HIS Word which
HE sent down upon Mary, and (thou art) the Spirit from HIM; so intercede for us
with thy LORD. Don’t you see (the trouble) in which we are? Don’t you see (the misfortune)
that has overtaken us? Jesus (P.B.U.H) would say: Verily, my LORD is angry today
as HE had never been angry before or would ever be angry afterwards. He mentioned
no sin of his. (He simply said:) I am concerned with myself, I am concerned with
myself; you go to someone else: better go to Muhammad [S.A.W.S]. They would come
to me and say: O Muhammad [S.A.W.S], Thou art the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] and
the last of the Apostles (P.B.U.T). ALLAH [S.W.T] has pardoned thee all thy previous
and later sins. Intercede for us with thy LORD; don’t you see in which (trouble)
we are? Don’t you see what (misfortune) has overtaken us? I shall then set off and
come below the Throne and fall down prostrate before my LORD; then ALLAH [S.W.T]
would reveal to me and inspire me with some of HIS Praises and Glorifications which
HE had not revealed to anyone before me. HE would then say: Muhammad [S.A.W.S],
raise thy head; ask and it would be granted; intercede and intercession would be
accepted I would then raise my head and say: O my LORD, my people, my people. It
would be said: O Muhammad [S.A.W.S], bring in by the right gate of Paradise those
of your people who would have no account to render. They would share with the people
some other door besides this door. The Holy Prophet [S.A.W.S] then said: By HIM
in WHOSE Hand is the life of Muhammad [S.A.W.S], verify the distance between two
door leaves of the Paradise is as great as between Mecca and Hajar, or as between
Mecca and Busra (379) It is reported on the authority of Abu Huraira (R.A) that
there was placed before the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] a cup of soft bread, soup
and meat. He took part of the foreleg which he liked most. He sliced (with his teeth)
a slice (out of that) and said: I would be the leader of mankind on the Day of Resurrection.
He then sliced (that meat) for the second time and said: I am the leader of mankind
on the Day of Resurrection. When he saw that his companions (R.A) did not ask him
(about this assertion) he said: Why don’t you say: How would that be? They said:
How would be it, Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]? He said: People would stand
before the LORD of the worlds. And the rest of the Hadith was narrated like the
one transmitted by Abu Hayyan (R.A), on the authority of Abu Zur’a (R.A), and in
the story of Ibrahim (P.B.U.H), this addition was made. He said and made mention
of his words with regard to the star: This is my LORD. And his words with regard
to their gods: But the big among them has done that. And his words: I am ailing.
He (the Holy Prophet [S.A.W.S]) said: By HIM in WHOSE Hand is the life of Muhammad
[S.A.W.S] the distance between two leaves of the door from their supporting frames
is as the distance between Mecca and Hajar or Hajar and Mecca. I do not remember
how he said it (whether Mecca and Hajar or Hajar and Mecca).

Chapter 84, Book 1: Faith (Kitab Al Iman), Number 0382:
Anas b. Malik (R.A)
reported:
The Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] said:
Amongst the Apostles (P.B.U.H) I would have the largest following on the Day of
Resurrection, and I would be the first to knock at the door of Paradise.

Anas b. Malik (R.A)
said:
The Apostle of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] said: I
would be the first intercessor in the Paradise and no Apostle amongst the Apostles
(P.B.U.H) has been testified (by such a large number of people) as I have been testified.
And verily there would be an Apostle (P.B.U.H) among the Apostles (P.B.U.T) who
would be testified to by only one man from his people.

The Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] said:
I will come to the gate of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection and would seek its
opening and the Keeper (P.B.U.H) would say: Who art thou? I would say: Muhammad
[S.A.W.S]. He would then say: It is for thee that I have been ordered, and not to
open it for anyone before thee.

Abu Huraira (R.A)
reported:
The Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] said:
There is for every Apostle (P.B.U.H) a prayer, and I intend (if ALLAH so willed)
that I would reserve my prayer for the intercession of my Ummah on the Day of Resurrection.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 89, Book 1: Faith (Kitab Al Iman), Number 0416:
‘Aisha (R.A) reported:
I said: Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S], the
son of Jud’an established ties of relationship, fed the poor. Would that be of any
avail to him? He said: It would be of no avail to him as he did not ever say: O
my LORD, pardon my sins on the Day of Resurrection.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 9, Book 2: Purification (Kitab Al-Taharah), Number 0477:
Nu'aim b. 'Abdullah
al-Mujmir (R.A) reported:
I saw Abu Huraira (R.A) perform ablution. He washed
his face and washed it well. He then washed his right hand including a portion of
his arm. He then washed his left hand including a portion of his arm. He then wiped
his head. He then washed his right foot including his shank, and then washed his
left foot including shank, and then said: This is how I saw ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger
[S.A.W.S] perform his ablution. And (Abu Huraira (R.A)) added that the Messenger
of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] had observed: You shall have your faces hands and feet
bright on the Day of Resurrection because of your perfect ablution. He who can afford
among you, let him increase the brightness of his forehead and that of hands and
legs.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 12, Book 4: Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat), Number 0790:
Anas (R.A) reported:
One day the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]
was sitting amongst us that he dozed off. He then raised his head smilingly. We
said: What makes you smile. Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]? He said: A Sura
has just been revealed to me, and then recited: In the name of ALLAH [S.W.T], the
Compassionate, the Merciful. Verily WE have given thee Kauthar (fount of abundance). Therefore
turn to thy LORD for prayer and offer sacrifice, and surely thy enemy is cut off
(from the good). Then he (the Holy Prophet [S.A.W.S]) said: Do you know what Kauthar
is? We said: ALLAH [S.W.T] and HIS Messenger [S.A.W.S] know best. The Holy Prophet
[S.A.W.S] said: It (Kauthar) is a canal which my LORD, the EXALTED and GLORIOUS
has promised me, and there is an abundance of good in it. It is a cistern and my
people would come to it on the Day of Resurrection, and tumblers there would be
equal to the number of stars. A servant would be turned away from (among the people
gathered there). Upon this I would say: My LORD, he is one of my people, and HE
(the LORD) would say: You do not know that he innovated new things (in Islam) after
you. Ibn Hujr (R.A) made this addition in the hadith: "He (the Holy Prophet
[S.A.W.S]) was sitting amongst us in the Mosque, and HE (ALLAH [S.W.T]) said: (You
don't know) what he innovated after you"
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 132, Book 4: Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat), Number 1757:
Abu Umama (R.A) said
he heard:
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] say: Recite
the Qur’an, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those
who recite It. Recite the two bright ones, Surah al-Baqara and Surah Al ‘Imran,
for on the Day of Resurrection they will come as two clouds or two shades, or two
flocks of birds in ranks, pleading for those who recite them. Recite Surah al-Baqara,
for to take recourse to it is a blessing and to give it up is a cause of grief,
and the magicians cannot confront it. (Mu’awiya (R.A) said: It has been conveyed
to me that here Batala means magicians.)
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 132, Book 4: Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat), Number 1759:
An-Nawwas b. Sam’an
(R.A) said:
He heard the Apostle [S.A.W.S] say: On the Day
of Resurrection the Qur’an and those who acted according to it will be brought with
Surah al-Baqara and Al ‘Imran preceding them. The Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]
likened them to three things, which I did not forget afterwards. He (the Holy Prophet
[S.A.W.S]) likened them to two clouds, or two black canopies with light between
them, or like two flocks of birds in ranks pleading for one who recited them.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 151, Book 4: Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat), Number 1857:
Abu Huraira (R.A)
reported:
The Apostle of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] as saying:
The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam (P.B.U.H) was created,
on it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he was expelled from it. And the last
hour will take place on no day other than Friday.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 151, Book 4: Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat), Number 1860:
Abu Huraira (R.A)
reported:
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] as saying:
We are the last (but) we would be the first on the Day of Resurrection, and we would
be the first to enter Paradise, but that they were given the Book before us and
we were given after them. They disagreed and ALLAH [S.W.T] guided us aright on whatever
they disagreed regarding the truth. And it was this day of theirs about which they
disagreed, but ALLAH [S.W.T] guided us to it, and that is Friday for us; the next
day is for the Jews and the day following for the Christians.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 151, Book 4: Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat), Number 1862:
It is narrated by
Abu Huraira (R.A):
That the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] said:
It was Friday from which ALLAH [S.W.T] diverted those who were before us. For the
Jews (the day set aside for prayer) was Sabt (Saturday), and for the Christians
it was Sunday. And ALLAH [S.W.T] turned towards us and guided us to Friday (as the
day of prayer) for us. In fact, HE (ALLAH [S.W.T]) made Friday, Saturday and Sunday
(as days of prayer). In this order would they (Jews and Christians) come after us
on the Day of Resurrection. We are the last of (the Ummahs) among the people in
this world and the first among the created to be judged on the Day of Resurrection.
In one narration it is: ‘to be judged among them".
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 180, Book 4: Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat), Number 2033:
Abu Malik al-Ash’ari
(R.A) reported:
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] as saying:
Among my people there are four characteristics belonging to pre-Islamic period which
they do not abandon: boasting of high rank, reviling other peoples genealogies,
seeking rain by stars, and wailing. And he (further) said: If the wailing woman
does not repent before she dies, she will be made to stand on the Day of Resurrection
wearing a garment of pitch and a chemise of mange.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 6, Book 5: Zakat (Kitab Al-Zakat), Number 2161:
Abu Huraira (R.A)
reported:
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] as saying:
If any owner of gold or silver does not pay what is due on him, when the Day of
Resurrection would come, plates of fire would be beaten out for him; these would
then be heated in the fire of Hell and his sides, his forehead and his back would
be cauterized with them. Whenever these cool down, (the process is) repeated during
a day the extent of which would be fifty thousand years, until Judgment is pronounced
among servants, and he sees whether his path is to take him to Paradise or to Hell.
It was said: Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S], what about the camel? He (the
Holy Prophet [S.A.W.S]) said: If any owner of the camel does not pay what is due
on him, and of his due in that (camel) is (also) to milk it on the day when it comes
down to water. When the Day of Resurrection comes a soft sandy plain would be set
for him, as extensive as possible, (he will find) that not a single young one is
missing, and they will trample him with their hoofs and bite him with their mouths.
As often as the first of them passes him, the last of them would be made to return
during a day the extent of which would be fifty thousand years, until Judgment is
pronounced among servants and he sees whether his path is to take him to Paradise
or to Hell. It was (again) said: Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S], what about
cows (cattle) and sheep? He said: It any owner of the cattle and sheep does not
pay what is due on them, when the Day of Resurrection comes a soft sandy plain would
be spread for them, he will find none of them missing, with twisted horns, without
horns or with a broken horn, and they will gore him with their horns and trample
him with their hoofs. As often as the first of them passes him the last of them
would be made to return to him during a day the extent of which would be fifty thousand
years, until Judgment would be pronounced among the servants. And he would be shown
his path-path leading him to Paradise or to Hell. It was said: Messenger of ALLAH
[S.W.T] [S.A.W.S], what about the horse? Upon this he said: The horses are of three
types. To one than (these are) a burden, and to another man (these are) a covering,
and still to another man (these are) a source of reward. The one for whom these
are a burden is the person who rears them in order to show off, for vainglory and
for opposing the Muslims; so they are a burden for him. The one for whom these are
a covering is the person who rears them for the Sake of ALLAH [S.W.T] but does not
forget the right of ALLAH [S.W.T] concerning their backs and their necks, and so
they are a covering for him. As for those which bring reward (these refer to) the
person who rears them for the Sake of ALLAH [S.W.T] to be used for Muslims and he
puts them in meadow and field. And whatever thing do these eat from that meadow
and field would be recorded on his behalf as good deeds, as would also the amount
of their dung and urine. And these would not break their halter and prance a course
or two without having got recorded the amount of their hoof marks and their dung
as a good deed on his behalf (on behalf of their owner). And their master does not
bring them past a river from which they drink, though he did not intend to quench
their thirst, but ALLAH [S.W.T] would record for him the amount of what they drink
on his behalf as deeds. It was said: Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S], what
about the asses? Upon this he said: Nothing has been revealed to me in regard to
the asses (in particular) except this one verse of a comprehensive nature: "He
who does an atom's weight of good will see it, and he who does an atom's weight
of evil will see it"
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 6, Book 5: Zakat (Kitab Al-Zakat), Number 2166:
Jabir b. ‘Abdullah
al-Ansari (R.A) reported:
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] as saying:
The owner of a camel who does not pay what is due on it (would be punished in this
way) that on the Day of Resurrection many more (along with his camel) would come
and the owner would be made to sit on a soft sandy ground and they would trample
him with their feet and hooves. And no owner of the cattle who does not pay what
is due on them (would be spared the punishment) but on the Day of Resurrection,
many more would come and he (the owner) would be made to sit on the soft sandy ground
and would be gored by their horns and trampled under their feet. And no owner of
the goats and sheep who does not pay what is due on them (would be spared of punishment)
but many more would come on the Day of Resurrection and he (the owner) would be
made to sit on a soft sandy ground and they would gore him with their horns and
trample him under their hooves. And there would be more (among this flock of sheep
and goat) without horns or with broken horns. And no owner of the treasure who does
not pay its due but his treasure would come on the Day of Resurrection like a bald
snake and would pursue him with its mouth open, and when it would come near he would
run away from it, and he would be called thus: "Take your treasure which you
concealed, for I do not need it." When he would find no way out he would put
his hand in its mouth and it would gnaw it like a he-camel. Abu Zubair (R.A) said:
We heard Ubaid b. Umair (R.A) saying this. We then asked Jabir b. ‘Abdullah (R.A)
about this. And he also said like Ubaid b. Umair, Abu Zubair (R.A) said: I heard
‘Ubaid b. ‘Umair (R.A) saying: A man said: Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S],
what is due on camels? He said: Milking them near water, and lending of bucket (used
for drawing water from it), or lending its male for mating with a she-camel and
providing it as a ride for the Sake of ALLAH [S.W.T].
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 8, Book 5: Zakat (Kitab Al-Zakat), Number 2170:
Abu Dharr (R.A) reported:
I went to the Apostle of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]
and he was sitting under the shade of the Ka'ba. As he saw me he said: By the LORD
of the Ka'ba, they are the losers. I came there till I sat and I could not stay
(longer) and (then) stood up. I said: Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S], let
my father, be ransom for you, who are they (the losers)? He said: They are those
having a huge amount of wealth except so and so and (those who spend their wealth
generously on them whom they find in front of them, behind them and on their right
side and on their left side) and they are a few. And no owner of camels, or cattle
or goat and sheep, who does not pay Zakat (would be spared punishment) but these
(camels, cattle, goats and sheep) would come on the Day of Resurrection wearing
more flesh and would gore him with their horns and trample them with their hooves.
And when the last one would pass away, the first one would return (to trample him)
till Judgment would be pronounced among people.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 9, Book 5: Zakat (Kitab Al-Zakat), Number 2174:
Abu Dharr (R.A) reported:
I walked with the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]
on the stony ground of Medina in the afternoon and we were looking at Uhud. The
Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] said: Abu Dharr! I said: Messenger of ALLAH
[S.W.T] [S.A.W.S], I am here at thy beck and call. He said: What I desire is that
Uhud be gold with me and three nights should pass and there is left with me any
Dinar but one coin which I would keep to pay debt. (I love) to spend it among the
servants of ALLAH [S.W.T] like this and he pointed in front of him, and on his right
side and on his left side. We then proceeded on and he said: Abu Dharr. I said:
At thy beck and call, Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]. He (the Holy Prophet
[S.A.W.S]) said: The rich would be poor on the Day of Resurrection, but he who spent
like this and like this and like this, and he pointed as at the first time. We again
went on when he said: Abu Dharr, stay where you are till I come back to you. He
(the Holy Prophet [S.A.W.S]) then moved on till he disappeared from my sight. He
(Abu Dharr (R.A)) said: I heard a sound and I heard a noise. I said (to myself):
The Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] might have met (mishap or an enemy). I
wished to follow him but I remembered his command for not departing till he would
come back. So I waited for him, and when he came I made a mention of what I heard.
He said: it was Gabriel (P.B.U.H), who came to me and said: "He who dies among
your Ummah without associating anything with ALLAH [S.W.T] would enter Paradise.
I said: Even if he committed fornication or theft? He said: Even if he committed
fornication or theft.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 17, Book 5: Zakat (Kitab Al-Zakat), Number 2207:
Abu Musa (R.A) reported:
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] as saying:
There would come a time for the people when a person would roam about with Sadaqa
of gold, but he would find no one to accept it from him. And a man would be seen
followed by forty women seeking refuge with him on account of the scarcity of males
and abundance of females."
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 17, Book 5: Zakat (Kitab Al-Zakat), Number 2208:
Abu Huraira (R.A)
reported:
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] as saying:
The Last Hour will not come before wealth becomes abundant and overflowing, so much
so that a man takes Zakat out of his property and cannot find anyone to accept it
from him and till the land of Arabia becomes meadows and rivers.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 17, Book 5: Zakat (Kitab Al-Zakat), Number 2209:
Abu Huraira (R.A)
reported:
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] as saying:
The Last Hour will not come till wealth is abundant and overflowing, so much so
that the owner of the property will think as to who will accept sadaqa from him,
and a person would be called to accept sadaqa and he would say: I do not need it.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 17, Book 5: Zakat (Kitab Al-Zakat), Number 2210:
Abu Huraira (R.A)
reported:
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] as saying:
The earth will vomit long pieces of its liver like columns of gold and silver, and
the murderer will come and say: It was for this that I committed murder. The breaker
of family ties will come and say: It was for this that I broke the family ties;
and the thief will come and say: It is for this that my hands were cut off. They
will then leave it and will not take anything out of it.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 33, Book 5: Zakat (Kitab Al-Zakat), Number 2263:
Hamza. son of 'Abdullah
(R.A) reported on the authority of his father:
That the Apostle of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] said:
When a man is always begging from people he would meet ALLAH [S.W.T] (in a state)
that there would be no flesh on his face.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 39, Book 5: Zakat (Kitab Al-Zakat), Number 2290:
Abu Said al-Khudri
(R.A) reported:
The Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] was sitting
on the pulpit and we were sitting around him, and he said: What I am afraid of in
regard to you after my death is that there would be opened for you the adornments
of the world and its beauties. A person said: Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T], does good
produce evil? The Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] remained silent. And it was
said to him (the man who had asked the question from the Holy Prophet [S.A.W.S]):
What is the matter with you, that you speak with the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T]
[S.A.W.S] but he does not speak with you? We thought as if revelation was descending
upon him. He regained himself and wiped the sweat from him and said: He was the
inquirer (and his style of expression showed as if he praised him and then added):
Verily good does not produce evil. Whatever the spring rainfall causes to grow kills
or is about to kill, but that (animal) which feeds on vegetation. It eats till its
flanks are filled; it faces the sun and dungs and urinates and then returns to eat.
And this wealth is a sweet vegetation, and it is a good companion for a Muslim who
gives out of it to the needy, to the orphan. to the wayfarer, or something like
that as the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] said: He who takes it without his
right is like one who eats but does not feel satisfied, and it would stand witness
against him on the Day of Judgment.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 28, Book 6: Fasting (Kitab Al-Sawm), Number 2566:
Abu Huraira (R.A)
reported:
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] as saying:
ALLAH [S.W.T] the Exalted and Majestic said: Every act of the son of Adam (P.B.U.H)
is for him, except fasting. It is (exclusively) meant for ME and I (Alone) will
reward it. Fasting is a shield. When any one of you is fasting on a day, he should
neither indulge in obscene language, nor raise the voice; or if anyone reviles him
or tries to quarrel with him he should say: I am a person fasting. By HIM, in WHOSE
Hand is the life of Muhammad [S.A.W.S], the breath of the observer of fast is sweeter
to ALLAH [S.W.T] on the Day of Judgment than the fragrance of musk. The one who
fasts has two (occasions) of joy, one when he breaks the fast he is glad with the
breaking of (the fast) and one when he meets his LORD he is glad with his fast.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 25, Book 6: Fasting (Kitab Al-Sawm), Number 2569:
Sahl b. Sa'd (R.A)
reported:
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] as saying:
In Paradise there is a gate which is called Rayyan through which only the observers
of fast would enter on the Day on Resurrection. None else would enter along with
them. It would be proclaimed: Where are the observers of fast that they should be
admitted into it?-and when the last of them would enter, it would be closed and
no one would enter it.

ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] as saying:
Every servant of ALLAH [S.W.T] who observes fast for a day in the way of ALLAH [S.W.T],
ALLAH [S.W.T] would remove, because of this day, his face farther from the Fire
(of Hell) to the extent of seventy years' distance.

Amir b. Sa’d (R.A)
reported on the authority of his father:
That ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] said:
I have declared sacred the territory between the two lava plains of Medina, so its
trees should not be cut down, or its game killed; and he also said: Medina is best
for them if they knew. No one leaves it through dislike of it without ALLAH [S.W.T]
putting in it someone better than he in place of him; and no one will stay there
in spite of its hardships and distress without my being an intercessor or witness
on behalf of him on the Day of Resurrection.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 82, Book 7: Pilgrimage (Kitab Al-Hajj), Number 3159:
‘Asim (R.A) reported:
I asked Anas b. Malik (R.A) whether ALLAH [S.W.T]’s
Messenger [S.A.W.S] had declared Medina as sacred. He said: Yes. (the area) between
so and so. He who made any innovation in it, and further said to me: It is something
serious to make any innovation in it (and he who does it) there is upon him the
curse of ALLAH [S.W.T], and that of the Angels (P.B.U.T) and of all the people,
ALLAH [S.W.T] will not accept from him on the Day of Resurrection either obligatory
acts or the supererogatory acts. Ibn Anas (R.A) said: Or he accommodates an innovator.

Ibn ‘Umar (R.A) reported:
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] as saying:
He who patiently endures the hardships of it (of this city of Medina), I would be
an intercessor or a witness on his behalf on the Day of Resurrection.

ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] visited the orchard
of Umm Ma'sud (R.A) and said: Umm Ma'bad (R.A). He who has planted this tree, is
he a Muslim or a non-Muslim? She said: Of course, he is a Muslim, whereupon he (the
Holy Prophet [S.A.W.S]) said: No Muslim who plants (trees) and from their fruits
the human beings or the beasts or birds eat, but that would be taken as an act of
charity on the Day of Resurrection.
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 24, Book 10: Pertaining To Business Transactions (Kitab Al-Buyu), Number
3791:
Hudhaifa (R.A) reported:
A servant from amongst the servants of ALLAH [S.W.T]
was brought to HIM whom ALLAH [S.W.T] had endowed with riches. HE (ALLAH [S.W.T])
said to him: What (did you do) in the world? (They cannot conceal anything from
ALLAH [S.W.T]). He (the person) said: O my LORD, YOU endowed me with YOUR riches.
I used to enter into transactions with people. It was my nature to be lenient to
(my debtors). I showed leniency to the solvent and gave respite to the insolvent,
whereupon ALLAH [S.W.T] said: I have more right than you to do this to connive at
MY servant. ‘Uqba b. ‘Amir al-Juhani and Abu Mas’ud (R.A) said: This is what we
heard from ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S].

Sa’id b. Zaid (R.A)
reported:
I heard ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] say:
He who took a span of earth wrongly would be made to wear around his neck seven
earths on the Day of Resurrection.

Chapter 1, Book 20: On Government (Kitab Al-Imara), Number 4483:
It has been narrated
on the authority of Amir b. Sa'd b. Abu Waqqas (R.A) who said:
I wrote (a letter) to Jabir b. Samura (R.A) and
sent it to him through my servant Nafi' (R.A), asking him to inform me of something
he had heard from the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]. He wrote to me (in reply):
I heard the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] say on Friday evening, the day
on which al-Aslami was stoned to death (for committing adultery): The Islamic religion
will continue until the Hour has been established, or you have been ruled over by
twelve Caliphs, all of them being from the Quraish. Also heard him say: A small
force of the Muslims will capture the white palace, the police of the Persian Emperor
or his descendants. I also heard him say: Before the Day of Judgment there will
appear (a number of) impostors. You are to guard against them. I also heard him
say: When ALLAH [S.W.T] grants wealth to any one of you, he should first spend it
on himself and his family (and then give it in charity to the poor). I heard him
(also) say: I will be your forerunner at the Cistern (expecting your arrival).
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 39, Book 20: On Government, Number 4673:
It has been narrated
on the authority of Sulaimin b. Buraida (R.A) who learnt the tradition from his
father. The latter said:
That the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] said:
The sanctity of the wives of Mujahids is like the sanctity of their mothers for
those who sit at home (i.e. do not go out for Jihad). Anyone who stays behind looking
after the family of a Mujahid and betrays his trust will be made to stand on the
Day of Judgment before the Mujahid who will take away from his meritorious deeds
whatever he likes. So what do you think (will he leave anything)?
Sahih Muslim:
Chapter 53, Book 20: On Government (Kitab Al-Imara), Number 4721:
It has been narrated
on the authority of 'Abd al-Rahman b. Shamasa al- Mahri (R.A) who said:
I was in the company of Maslama b. Mukhallad ,
and 'Abdullah b. 'Amr b. 'As (R.A) was with him. 'Abdullah (R.A) said: The Hour
shall some only when the worst type of people are left on the earth. They will be
worse than the people of pre-Islamic days. They will get whatever they ask of ALLAH
[S.W.T]. While we were yet sitting when 'Uqba b. 'Amir (R.A) came, and Maslama (R.A)
said to him: 'Uqba, listen to what 'Abdullah says. 'Uqba (R.A) said: He knows better;
so far as I am concerned, I heard the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] say:
A group of people from my Ummah will continue to fight in obedience to the Command
of ALLAH [S.W.T], remaining dominant over their enemies. Those who will oppose them
shall not do them any harm. They will remain ill this condition until the Hour overtakes
them. (At this) 'Abdullah (R.A) said: Yes. Then ALLAH [S.W.T] will raise a wild
which will be fragrant like musk and whose touch will be like the touch of silk
; (but) it will cause the death of all (faithful) persons, not leaving behind a
single person with an iota of faith in his heart. Then only the worst of men will
remain to be overwhelmed by the Hour.

he should not serve me drink in it (silver vessel) for ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger
[S.A.W.S] had said: Do not drink in gold and silver vessels, and do not wear brocade

would spout forth upon them. He was asked about its breadth. He said: From this

And His Companions (Kitab Al Fada'Il), Number 5853:
Abu Huraira (R.A)
reported:
While a Jew was selling goods, he was given something
which he did not accept or he did not agree (to accept) that 'Abdul 'Azlz (R.A)
(one of the narrators) is doubtful about it. He (the Jew) said: By ALLAH [S.W.T],
Who chose Moses (P.B.U.H) among mankind. A person from the Ansar heard it and gave
a blow at his face saying: (You have the audacity) to say: By HIM WHO chose Moses
(P.B.U.H) amongst mankind, whereas ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] is living
amongst us. The Jew went to ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] and said: Abu'l-Qasim
[S.A.W.S], I am a Dhimmi and (thus need your protection) by a covenant, and added:
Such and such person has given a blow upon my face. Thereupon ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger
[S.A.W.S] said: Why did you give a blow on his face? He said: ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger
[S.A.W.S], this man said: By HIM WHO chose Moses (P.B.U.H) amongst mankind, whereas
you are living amongst us. ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] became angry and
signs of anger could be seen on his face, and then said: Don't make distinction
amongst the Prophets (P.B.U.T) of ALLAH [S.W.T]. When the horn will be blown and
whatever is in the heavens and the earth would swoon but he whom ALLAH [S.W.T] grants
exception, then another horn will be blown and I would be the first amongst those
who would recover and Moses (P.B.U.H) would be catching hold of the Throne and I
do not know whether it is a compensation for that when he swooned on the Day of
Tur or he would be resurrected before me and I do not say that anyone is more excellent
than Yunus son of Matta (P.B.U.H). This hadith has been narrated on the authority

abuses upon others, brought calumny against others and unlawfully consumed the wealth

the least torture (on the Day of Resurrection): Would you like to go as ransom if
you had all worldly riches; he would say: Yes. ALLAH [S.W.T] would say to him: When
you were in the loins of Adam (P.B.U.H), I demanded from you something easier than
this that you should not associate anything with ME. (The narrator says): I think
He also said: I would not cause you to enter Hell Fire but you defied and attributed
Divinity (to others besides ME).

Do you recognize this? And they would raise up their necks and look and say: Yes,
it is death. Then command would be given for slaughtering that and then it would
be said: O inmates of Paradise, there is an everlasting life for you and no death.

barefooted, naked and uncircumcised (and then recited the words of the Qur’an):

(binding) upon us. Lo! WE are to perform it, and the first person who would be clothed
on the Day of Resurrection would be (Hadrat) Ibrahim (P.B.U.H)" and, behold!
some persons of my Ummah would be brought and taken to the left and I would say:
My LORD, they are my companions, and it would be said: You do not know what they
did after you, and I would say just as the pious servant (Hadrat ‘Isa (P.B.U.H))
said: I was a witness regarding them as I remained among them and THOU art a witness
over everything, so if THOU chastisest them, they are THY servants and if THOU forgivest
them, THOU art MIGHTY, WISE" (5. 117-118). And it would be said to him: They
constantly turned to their heels since you left them. This Hadith has been transmitted

they fabricated."

I did not hear this hadith from ALLAH [S.W.T]’s

him. As ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Apostle [S.A.W.S] was going along with us towards the dwellings
of Bani an-Najjar, riding upon his pony, it shied and he was about to fall. He found
four, five or six graves there. He said: Who amongst you knows about those lying
in the graves? A person said: It is I. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet [S.A.W.S])
said: In what state did they die? He said: They died as polytheists. He said: These
people are passing through the ordeal in the graves. If it were not the reason that
you would stop burying (your dead) in the graves on listening to the torment in
the grave which I am listening to, I would have certainly made you hear that. Then
turning his face towards us, he said: Seek refuge with ALLAH [S.W.T] from the torment
of Hell. They said: We seek refuge with ALLAH [S.W.T] from the torment of Hell.
He said: Seek refuge with ALLAH [S.W.T] from the torment of the grave. They said:

[S.A.W.S])? If he is a believer, he would say: I bear testimony to the fact that
he is a servant of ALLAH [S.W.T] and HIS Messenger. Then it would be said to him:
Look to your seat in the Hell- Fire, for ALLAH [S.W.T] has substituted (the seat
of yours) with a seat in Paradise. ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] said: He

of its odor, (and further said) that the dwellers of the sky say: Here comes the
pious soul from the side of the earth. Let there be Blessings of ALLAH upon the
body in which it resides. And it is carried (by the Angels (P.B.U.T)) to its LORD,
the EXALTED and GLORIOUS. HE would say: Take it to its destined end. And if he is
a nonbeliever and as it (the soul) leaves the body- Hammad (R.A) made a mention
of its foul smell and of its being cursed-the dwellers of the sky say: There comes
a dirty soul from the side of the earth, and it would be said: Take it to its destined
end. Abu Huraira (R.A) reported that ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] put a thin

'Abdullah b. 'Amr
(R.A) reported:
That a person came to him and said: What is this
hadith that you narrate that the Last Hour would come at such and such time? Thereupon
he said: Hallowed be ALLAH, there is no god but ALLAH (or the words to the same
effect). I have decided that I would not narrate anything to anyone now. I had only
said that you would see after some time an important event that the (sacred) House
(Ka'ba) would be burnt and it would happen and definitely happen. He then reported
that ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] said: The dajjal would appear in my Ummah
and he would stay (in the world) for forty-I cannot say whether he meant forty days,
forty months or forty years. And ALLAH [S.W.T] would then send Jesus, son of Mary
(P.B.U.T) who would resemble 'Urwa b Mas'ud (R.A). He (Jesus Christ (P.B.U.H)) would
chase him and kill him. Then people would live for seven years that there would
be no ran cour between two persons. Then ALLAH [S.W.T] would send cold wind from
the side of Syria that none would survive upon the earth having a speck of good
in him or faith in him but he would die, so much so that even if some amongst you
were to enter the innermost part of the mountain, this wind would reach that place
also and that would cause his death. I heard ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S]
as saying: Only the wicked people would survive and they would be as careless as
birds with the characteristics of beasts. They would never appreciate the good nor
condemn evil. Then the satan would come to them in human form and would say: Don't
you respond? And they would say: What do you order us? And he would command them
to Worship the idols but, in spite of this, they would have abundance of sustenance
and lead comfortable lives. Then the trumpet would be blown and no one would hear
that but he would bend his neck to one side and raise it from the other side and
the first one to hear that trumpet would be the person who would be busy in setting
right the tank meant for providing water to the camels. He would swoon and the other
people would also swoon, then ALLAH [S.W.T] would send or HE would cause to send
rain which would be like dew and there would grow out of it the bodies of the people.
Then the second trumpet would be blown and they would stand up and begin to look
(around). Then it would be said: O people, go to your LORD, and make them stand
there. And they would be questioned. Then it would be said: Bring out a group (out
of them) for the Hell-Fire. And then it would be asked: How much? It would be said:
Nine hundred and ninety-nine out of one thousand for the Hell-Fire and that would
be the day which would make the children old because of its terror and that would
be the day about which it has been said:" On the day when the Shank would be
uncovered" (68. 42).

said: Abu Huraira (R.A) , do you mean forty days? He said: I cannot say anything.
They said: Do you mean forty months? He said: I cannot say anything. They said:
Do you mean forty years? He said: I cannot say anything. Then ALLAH [S.W.T] would
cause the water to descend from the sky and they (people) will sprout like vegetable.

his ear and said: Who amongst you would like to have this for a dirham? They said:
We do not like to have it even for less than that as it is of no use to us. He said:
Do you wish to have it (free of any cost)? They said: By ALLAH [S.W.T], even if
it were alive (we would not have liked to possess that), for there is detect in
it as its ear is very short; now it is dead also. Thereupon ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger
[S.A.W.S] said: By ALLAH [S.W.T], this world is more insignificant in the eye of
ALLAH [S.W.T] as it (this dead lamb) is in your eye.

Thereupon he said: It was because of the (fact that there came to my mind the) talk which the servant would have with his LORD. (On the Day of Judgment). He would say: My LORD, have you not guaranteed me protection against injustice? HE would say: Yes. Then the servant would say: I do not deem valid any witness against me but my own self, and HE would say: Well, enough would he the witness of your self against you and that of the two Angels (P.B.U.T) who had been appointed to record your deeds. Then the seal would be set upon his mouth and it would be said to his hands and feet to speak and they would speak of his deeds. Then the mouth would be made free to talk, he would say (to the hands and feet): Be away, let there be curse of ALLAH [S.W.T] upon you. It was for your safety that I contended.

(Abdullah b. ‘Amr b. ‘As (R.A)) said: Then you are amongst the kings. Abu ‘Abdal-Rahman
(R.A) reported that three persons came to ‘Abdullah b. Amr b. ‘As (R.A) while I
was sitting with him and they said: By ALLAH [S.W.T], we have nothing with us either
in the form of provision, riding animals or wealth. Thereupon he said to them: I
am prepared to do whatever you like. If you come to us, we would give you what ALLAH
[S.W.T] would make available for you. and if you like I would make a mention of
your case to the ruler, and if you like you can show patience also for I have heard
ALLAH [S.W.T]’s Messenger [S.A.W.S] as saying: Destitute amongst the emigrants would
precede the rich emigrants by forty years in getting into Paradise on the Day of
Resurrection. Thereupon they said: We then, show patience and do not ask for anything.
Jami' at-Tirmidhi: Book 37: Chapters on the Description of the Day of Judgment,
Ar-Riqaq, and Al-Wara', Hadith 2615:
Abu Salih (R.A) reported
from Abu Huraira and Abu Saeed (R.A):
That the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] said:
"The servant will be brought on the Day of Judgment, and HE will say to him:
'Did I not give you hearing, sight, wealth, children, and did I not make the cattle
and tillage subservient to you, and did I not leave you as the head of people taking
from their wealth? Did you not think that you would have to meet with ME on this
Day of yours?' So he will say: 'No.' So it will be said to him: 'Today you shall
be forgotten just as you have forgotten ME.'"
Jami' at-Tirmidhi:
Book 39: The Book on the Description of Hellfire, Hadith 2773:
'Abdullah bin Mas'ud
(R.A) narrated:
That the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] said:
"Hell will be brought forth on that Day (of Resurrection) having seventy thousand
bridles, and with every handle will be seventy thousand Angels (P.B.U.T) dragging
it'".
Sunan Abi Dawud:
Chapter 20, Book 42: Model Behavior of the Prophet (Kitab Al-Sunnah), Hadith 134:
Jarir b. Abd’Allah
(R.A) said:
When we are were sitting with the Messenger of
ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] he looked at the moon on the night when it was full, that
is, fourteenth, and said: You will see your LORD as you see this (moon) and have
no doubts about seeing him. If, therefore, you can keep from being prevented from
prayer before the sun rises and before it sets, do so. He then recited: "Celebrate
the Praise of your LORD before the rising of the sun and before its setting".
Sunan Abi Dawud:
Chapter 20, Book 42: Model Behavior of the Prophet (Kitab Al-Sunnah), Hadith 135:
Abu Huraira (R.A)
said:
The people asked: Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]!
Shall we see our LORD, the EXALTED, on the Day of resurrection? He replied: Do you
feel any trouble in seeing the sun at noon when it is not in the cloud? They said:
No. He asked: Do you feel any trouble in seeing the moon on the night when it is
full and not in the cloud? They replied: No. He said: By HIM in WHOSE Hand my soul
is, you will not feel any trouble in seeing HIM except as much as you feel in seeing
any of them.
Sunan Abi Dawud:
Chapter 27, Book 42: Model Behavior of the Prophet (Kitab Al-Sunnah), Hadith 158:
Narrated Al-Bara'
Ibn Azib (R.A):
We went out with the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T]
[S.A.W.S] accompanying the bier of a man of the Ansar. When we reached his grave,
it was not yet dug. So the Messenger of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S] sat down and we
also sat down around him as if birds were over our heads. He had in his hand a stick
with which he was scratching the ground. He then raised his head and said: Seek
refuge with ALLAH [S.W.T] from the punishment in the grave. He said it twice or
thrice.
The version of Jabir
(R.A) adds here: He hears the beat of their sandals when they go back, and at that
moment he is asked: O so and so! Who is your LORD, what is your religion, and who
is your Prophet?
Hannad (R.A)'s version
says: Two Angels (P.B.U.T) will come to him, make him sit up and ask him: Who is
your LORD? He will reply: My LORD is ALLAH [S.W.T]. They will ask him: What is your
religion? He will reply: My religion is Islam. They will ask him: What is your opinion
about the man who was sent on a mission among you? He will reply: He is the Messenger
of ALLAH [S.W.T] [S.A.W.S]. They will ask: Who made you aware of this? He will reply:
I read ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Book, believed in it, and considered it true; which is verified
by ALLAH [S.W.T]'s words: "ALLAH [S.W.T]'s Book, believed in it, and considered
it true, which is verified by ALLAH [S.W.T]'s words: "ALLAH establishes those
who believe with the word that stands firm in this world and the next."
The agreed version
reads: Then a crier will call from Heaven: MY servant has spoken the truth, so spread
a bed for him from Paradise, clothe him from Paradise, and open a door for him into
Paradise. So some of its air and perfume will come to him, and a space will be made
for him as far as the eye can see.
He also mentioned
the death of the infidel, saying: His spirit will be restored to his body, two Angels
(P.B.U.T) will come to him, make him sit up and ask him: Who is your LORD? He will
reply: Alas, alas! I do not know. They will ask him: What is your religion? He will
reply: Alas, alas! I do not know. They will ask: Who was the man who was sent on
a mission among you? He will reply: Alas, alas! I do not know. Then a crier will
call from Heaven: He has lied, so spread a bed for him from Hell, clothe him from
Hell, and open for him a door into Hell. Then some of its heat and pestilential
wind will come to him, and his grave will be compressed, so that his ribs will be
crushed together.
Jabir (R.A)'s version
adds: One who is blind and dumb will then be placed in charge of him, having a sledge-hammer
such that if a mountain were struck with it, it would become dust. He will give
him a blow with it which will be heard by everything between the east and the west
except by men and jinn, and he will become dust. Then his spirit will be restored
to him.
